donked into on the turn with a hand and a draw.

this hand happened while i was giving lessons to a friend. this was only remotely interesting spot from session.

two limpers to me in LMP. i limp along with 4 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]5 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

button and sb come along. 6 to the flop of:
3 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]-4 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]5- [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (pot: 6 BB)

blinds and limpers check to me. i bet 5 BB. folds to BB who calls.

turn: 8 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (pot: 16bb)

BB leads into me for pot. we both have about 100bb behind.

action, lines, reasoning?

I just call here I think. If I'm behind I definitely wanna see this river without being blown off my hand. If he leads the river strong and I don't improve, it's a tough decision.

I'll give it a shot...

What kinds of hands do you typically see take this line?

Monster: Set or flopped straight.
Very Strong Hand: Two Pair
Unsure where he is: Overpair
Bluff: Some guys like to bluff.

I don't really think a draw plays this way.

If he has a monster, he's not going anywhere.
If he has two pair, if he's any good, he's probably capable of folding it, since this is an unraised pot, except for maybe 45 and 58.
Overpair folds to a raise.
Bluff folds to a raise.

If you raise here and get re-raised, you're not gonna be real happy about it. About the only time you're ever good after that action is if he's got 6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]x[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] and is getting cute.

Call a river bet (unless you improve), value bet a river check.

Were you thinking about raising? I don't like that here. You have a hand that looks really good, but actually is not.

85, 84, 83, 67? All are 70% or better against us, and other than a heart, I don't even know what card we want to see on the river.

We really need a read, but calling is the default.

If he's not a complete idiot, folding is better than raising.

Wait, Im an idiot - He has A [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]6 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] or x [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 6 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] like a lot of the time here. That makes much more sense. I wasn't paying attention.

I change my vote. It's way more likely he has the hearts + 6. Raise it up.

Because he was playing $25 NL. The other guy called with A4o.

nice read.

Re: donked into on the turn with a hand and a draw.

his turn lead for the whole pot just seemed out of sync to me coupled with his flop check-call with the two limpers yet to act again.

basically i kind of got thrown off by it. happened suddenly. turn hit and bam he pots it. thought for a while and could not really figure out what he was doing, and couldn't figure out what he was putting me on, or what he was trying to accomplish. why no check, CR, weak-lead 3bet, or smaller bet?

like la said in his second post i though 6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]-x[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] was a strong contender. along with 34 and 53 for smaller twopairs.

so i decide to raise. raising the pot would have put 48BB's in leaving ~50 behind if he just calls with a big pot on river and shallow money behind. so i got it in.

this is an autopush IMO.

edit then again nothing makes me happier thanputting the slider all the way to the right and hitting raise.

Re: donked into on the turn with a hand and a draw.

and the somewhat uninteresting results:

like i said i pushed, villain thought for only a little bit before folding and showing 82o for turn top pair + OESD.

what do you all think of villains play here? would any of you been bluffed off if you had just called turn, and he had lead strong again on a brick river (ie Jc)?
