JJ OOP against half the [censored] table
First orbit, no reads, but this table in general has been fairly loose. Also, what do you think of the PFR with jacks in EP? I feel like too often I build pots OOP with hands that can get difficult to play postflop.

Obviously check fold the flop. I like limping preflop, but some like a raise.

Obviously check fold the flop. I like limping preflop, but some like a raise. [/ QUOTE ] That was originally going to be my plan. I also though about making a smallish CB, closer to 1/2-2/3 pot, but figured that against 3 opponents, it would be too difficult to play on the turn, because while a call could mean a K, it could also mean a flush draw. Here's what I did: Flop: (t350) K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 4[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 2[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (5 players) Hero checks, MP1 bets t45, MP2 folds, MP3 folds, Hero calls t45. I figured that getting 9:1 with the possibility that my hand was good, and since MP2 and MP3 dropped out, I could peel one off, I doubt that anyone disagrees with that. My question is, when the turn blanks, what do you do? Turn: (t440) 5[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (3 players) Hero... |
Re: JJ OOP against half the [censored] table
Usually check fold again. Unless he makes another freakishly small bet.

Re: JJ OOP against half the [censored] table
Not having the J [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] hurts your hand more than most people realize.
Anyway, I think you can either lead or c-raise this turn, depending on how those games play and what is most likely to achieve your desired reaction from MP1. |

Check? Never heard of it.
Turn: (t440) 5[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (3 players) Hero bets t220, MP1 calls t220. River: (t880) K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (3 players) Hero... |
Re: JJ OOP against half the [censored] table
That was a bad move.

Re: JJ OOP against half the [censored] table
Check fold.....again.

Re: JJ OOP against half the [censored] table
Also, on the flop, granted you are getting great odds, you have to consider that MP1 was willing to bet into 3 opponents. That in itself indicates strength. I don't even think I'd call the flop bet. There is a very good chance you only have 2 outs.

I checked, villain checked behind and showed 77, MHIG. This hand felt really awkard, but I felt like I might have done something right at some point here, although I wasn't sure what it was.
Clearly, I butchered the hand, thanks for your insight. |

Also, folding to that bet just seemed incredibly weak. |

but I felt like I might have done something right at some point here [/ QUOTE ] ... well you did check the flop... I'm kidding, but you did mess this hand up. Raise pf is fine if you're comfortable playing a raised pot with JJ oop. You might not be, so maybe consider limping. Flop is a check fold, but to that small bet sticking around is fine. Like splashpot said, turn is a check fold unless it's really small again. Your turn bet is really bad. Depending on how you got to the river, that K is a great card so I might call a small amount, but it totally depends on turn action when you don't bet. |
