AA HU

50/100

Villian is pretty solid, i am playing him because my initial read is that he folds a little too much HU and i can nickel and dime him. He has not gotten out of line yet. I have 11.5k, he covers.

Preflop, he raises to 300, i smooth call with AA. Flop is 36T all diamonds (I have no diamond) I check, he bets 700, i make 2200, he calls. Turn is a low offsuit brick. Pot is 5k, i have 9 behind. Your action?

Bet $8,999 and get the rest in on the river.

Re: AA HU

I don't really like smooth-calling with Aces here with over 100BB each.

His range is pretty wide although I think most likely is pair+diamond. I don't think you can formulate any plan that involves folding on the turn because he may play aggressively with hands that you beat. So, I would bet about 4.5k, laying him a little worse than 2:1. Going broke to this type of board is the risk you take by smoothcalling.

I defintly re-raise here a lot, i just think smoothcalling is god from time to time because it forces him to pay off big river bets with top pair type hands more because i didn
't re-raise preflop. The major problem is of course as you said, his range is fairly wide here and there isnt really away to get away from my hand when behind.

misclick!

Lol. "misclick equity".. I dont know what are the chances that Villain misclicks but certainly 1$ bet into 10k pot would have enough mislick equity to be worthwhile

especially if he has a bad connection. imagine timing out for a one dollar bet. I would probably kill myself.

And the sight i was playing on had no disconnect protect! Damn i really need to start seeing the bigger picture here...

bad connection.

[/ QUOTE ]

So it seems that the best play in EV sense is to wait as long as possible make 9999 bet then wait again and shove the last dollar to maximize chances that something bad happen to Villain or his connection in the meantime. However the problem is that this play is highly unethical and OP is very concerned about ethic issues. I think good balance is wait about 5-7seconds before every bet all in all its big pot and thinking for few seconds is ok.
That completes the analysis of this hand I think :-)

Re: AA HU

I know everyone is actually joking about the $8,999 bet; however villain will just shove everytime on turn (that he plans on calling)

12-02-2005 02:02 PM

Re: AA HU

And that turns our misclick equity into his. It truly is a double edged sword.

Re: AA HU

heads up, I think just calling is fine especially since you say that he folds too much. I think trapping wiht AA or KK heads up is a good play. I bet pot on turn.

What constitutes a brick here?

If he's solid and not on tilt, what can he call your flop raise with?

I'm a moran, don't play this high, and suck at NL. But what worse hands is he willing to go broke with?

12-03-2005 05:22 AM

Re: AA HU

KK, QQ, JJ (either with or without diamonds)
AdKx, AxKd, AdTx, AT(s), and maybe a bunch of others...

Re: AA HU

Then on the theory he has one of those hands (or a better one), push. You win plenty that way. Easy game.
