*blind*
You screwd up the flop man!!!!!!!! The river's fine. you only need to win 1in8 times. something like 13in100 times. But he likes his '9' or AQ (or TT). |

Re: AKs. Should i have been scared??
Bet the flop. Making them pay at least something to draw, even correctly, is "infinitely" better than making them pay nothing to draw.
|
Re: AKs. Should i have been scared??
I could go either way on the checkraise if that was your intent; a free card generally wouldn't hurt too much if you whiffed (though this was unfortunate if he made the straight). I think I'd rather bet out though as I have the momentum.

pre-flop good
bet the flop rest fine |
Re: AKs. Should i have been scared??
I think not betting the flop is pretty bad, not because of fear of giving free cards, but because of missed value. I also don't like C/Ring because villain only called our PF 3-bet.

Re: AKs. Should i have been scared??
Betting out with the best hand is underrated.
If you do the river can be bet/fold or check/call. |

You were the preflop aggressor, you can't try to check/raise here. |
Re: AKs. Should i have been scared??
I suspect you just got beat by a straight. Yes, you should have bet this flop--you allowed any drawing hand a free turn card. In reality the flop bet is only protecting you against 1,2, and 3 (maybe 4) outers, but at least it's doing that. If your free turn card improves anyone to a 7 outer (or worse, two pair, set, or a straight), then they are correct to call (or bet in the case of two pair, a set, or straight) a turn bet. You have to bet the flop, but in reality, both of these morons are going to call.

Re: AKs. Should i have been scared??
Bet the flop. I never check/raise when I am the preflop aggressor unless I have some maniac behind me and even then I am more likely to bet into him instead of C/R. I also don't like the check here because if it gets checked through, there are a few scare cards that can come on the turn such as 6,9,10 and a J. (People love playing suited connectors)
Other than that, the hand is fine. |
Re: AKs. Should i have been scared??
*grunch*
On the flop you should go for c/r or just bet out. I don't know which is better at this case. Turn is fine. SB could be on a draw with that board and probably isn't going to bet out so you should. If he had AQ or 99 he was taking the worst of it. River is fine if you don't have any reads. |
Re: AKs. Should i have been scared??
Gotta bet the flop. I'd go bet, bet, bet and then call the river. Pot is big enough I'd say.
