Lasik Eye Surgery

I just had this procedure done and it is amazing. About 20 minutes of extreme discomfort, but truly fantastic results. I'm still in the healing process right now so must avoid smokey/dusty areas and put drops in every hour I'm awake. I can however see very crisp and clearly, especially far far away. Individual leaves on trees and tiny bricks on buildings are things that were fuzzy blobs to me before without spectacles. Anyways, if anyone is thinking about getting this surgery done I recommend it.

Hey good for you....I had it done in 1997 and I'm an eye doc. Where in Toronto did u have it done? If you play at casinos freqently, it is the best investment ever bc ur wearing contacts for 24 hrs straight in a smokey casino is a killer and distracts u from playing A game.
I'm not sure why u were in extreme discomfort for 20 min...the procedure doesn't hurt at all. Word of caution, sometimes ur vision may regress after a few weeks so don't count ur chickens yet.....knock on wood.

I had it done at the Younge/Eglington laser eye center. The discomfort wasn't pain, it was just feeling helpless and scared. Never been able to handle eye stuff very well.

I had PRK done in January. Best money I've ever spent.

Even with the 2 days of icepick-in-my-eyes pain.

I had it done a couple of months ago on my left eye. They only had to redo the surgery three times in three days! By the third time my eye was so raw I had to take so much pain medication that I slept for 24 hours. And even now my eye isn't really usable (went from too far sighted to too near sighted). So I get to go in tomorrow for my fourth operation! Not to fix it, but to prepare it for my fifth operation! Which hopefully will fix it.

Laser Surgery rocks, dude!

Had it done in early 2003 - best money ever spent. Went from cokebottles to 20-20.

You jackass, you came all the way to TO and didn't even stop by to say hello.

And my office is on the corner of Yonge and Eglinton.

Had it done 3 weeks ago. My vision is now better than 20/20. Still a little dryness, but it's almost gone now.

Best money I've ever spent! (including hookers!!!)

Good for you guys

The place I went to for a screening said they don't have enough experience with my prescription. I don't like German Shepards, so I folded

I think I'll try contacts.

I was thinking of getting the precedure done and wondered what the price was for this?

Do a little research. In 12-15 years, most of you will be regretting this procedure.

Why?

Bud of mine got it done about 12 years ago. Still swears that he would do it again.

This does not happen to the majority of patients undergoing this procedure, but there are lawsuits pending right now. Some are from people that had botched preocedures, and some from people that had precedures done 10+ years ago and now they are going blind.

I was offered the procedure for a FREE as an endorsement deal and turned it down flat.

I think it will get better and better. I am thinking about doing it but I am waiting for new technology.

Zulu- some references please. The complication rate (and lawsuit rate) is tiny. The major problem for a young myope is that they will require reading glasses at an earlier age than if they didn't have the procedure.

I got mine done for $4800cnd both eyes, but that is definately the higher end price here in Ontario. I went to the best of the best. You can get it done for 1k or so if you shop around. Check online for doctors in your area.

You don't need references. That's the beauty about blanket statements - if you're right, you get to shout from the rooftops "I told you so!!!" If you're wrong, nobody remembers that you said it, and you get to move on to the next "end is nigh" proclamation with no loss of credibility. (see also: fluoridated water, cell phones, television, radio, automobiles, electricity, fire, etc.)

Re: Lasik Eye Surgery

I went for two thorough exams at Bascom Palmer at Univ.of Miami Eye Center top 5 in the country for this surgery.

IF you have extremely large pupils as I do there is a very high likelihood that you will lose your nite driving ability permanently and have to deal with other life changing side-effects-haze etc.

I went for 2 separate 1 hour long interviews w/two different doctors... Both doctors told me at this time for people with very large pupils the risk is too great. I would really like to get this surgery done mostly for watersports-surfing,bodysurfing,swimming.. I wasnt willing to risk it. I'll check it out again in another few years.
