GF Birthdays.

Ok so my psuedo girlfriend's birthday is on thursday, the first and I just found out that my gift idea (unlimited beef bonanza at a brazilian resturant) was stolen by her best friend.

So I have no really great idea what to get her. She has implied jokingly that she wants a set of Dior MoonBoots, but frankly I don't know if I like spending 300-400 on snow boots that can't be worn in the snow.

Help me OOT, you're my only hope!

Hi Rustedcorpse,

I think what your girlfriend really wants is intimacy, commitment, love, and passion - all of which can be achieved with the caring gift of 120 dollars in cash.

Re: GF Birthdays.

Tell her you'll get her the moon boots, but only if she learns the entire final dance sequence from Napoleon Dynamite and performs it for you in nothing but the boots.

Re: GF Birthdays.

Until she's your wife, you're a sucker to buy the boots. Go for the steak and have her friend pay.

Re: GF Birthdays.

Buy a cheap pair of moon boots-preferably ones which have been used already and are quite worn-and just slap on two pieces of masking tape with "Dior" messily written on them.

My thoughts exactly. Get her a pseudo-gift...maybe a picture of whatever she would get if she were your actual girlfriend. I'm sure she'll love it and want to have your babies.

Re: GF Birthdays.

What the hell is a pseudo girlfriend and why would anyone buy one $400 boots? Damn money-grubbing women. Just give her the unlimited beef bonanza at home.

Does pseudo girlfriend mean that she lets you take her out and buy her dinner and [censored] but then goes home and [censored] other guys?

Re: GF Birthdays.

OP:

Get her the Moonboots, guy. That's not that much cash and it'll make her happy. This is classic, "I'm just joking, that's too expensive!" I have been using this technique with my wife for almost 10 years. When I ask her what she wants she tells me a bunch of stuff she thinks I can afford. Then later (or before the list, be aware!) she makes a "joke" about some outlandish gift that usually involves a vacation or jewelry or some traditional gift.

Because she isn't greedy or manipulative, if I miss it, she doesn't care. But when I pull it out, I always get the same "You really got it!" reaction.

Good Luck with your endeavors,

I find this solves all my gf issues as well, but you must have an insider if you are getting this done for sub-$400. Jesus christ this stuff is expensive.

Re: GF Birthdays.

Capo,

It all depends on what you buy. There's some absolutely gorgeous stuff that's listed from $100-200. I'm not talkin about diamonds, christ. I forget her name, but they have one designer that has a whole line of neat "heart" pendants/bracelets, and that's just a start.

I've walked into the store, told em what I was looking to spend, and walked out with great gifts for GFs. They dont look at you too stupidly if you tell em you only have $200, cuz a sale's a sale. And the older ladies that work there love a story about a guy buying something for a girl.

TBM,

My GF's gettin the first blue box (from me) for xmas this year. The sex is already great. Chicks do crazy [censored] after they open these blue boxes. Trust me. Its nice.

Yeah I bought the white gold heart ring for my GF. Expensive for what it was, but upon further recollection, it may have only been like $200. She wears it every day.

Something from victoria's secret. Assuming she has the body to make it work.

Although the idea about making her do the N.Dynamite dance in the boots is money.

Edit to add: Stuff like lingerie is something she can enjoy, you can enjoy, not to expensive, and it sends the message "I like you but we're still not serious."

If you want this to get serious, Tiffanys isn't a bad option.
