Need a Beer Related Gift
I need a gift for my 3 uncles that is beer related, as in they can drink it and its beer, not some lame budweiser chair or something, but something that is not just going to the store and buying a 24 pack. OOT people seem to drink quite a bit, so ever get a good beer related gift that you enjoyed drinking?
Also after watching the Dennis Leary comedy specials im wondering if people really hate beers that have unusual flavors? Anyway I need ideas. Thanks |
Re: Need a Beer Related Gift

Re: Need a Beer Related Gift
Chimay and Duvel have gift sets that include some glassware. If you are just looking for some recommended beers then we need more info like:
What they like? Where you live? How much do you want to spend? |

Re: Need a Beer Related Gift
Cigarettes go well with beer, as do ugly chicks.
Get them personalized mugs, then have them buy you beer. |
Re: Need a Beer Related Gift
I went to New Belgium brewery in Fort Collins, CO a while back. Brought back a sour cherry lambic called La Folie that came in a champagne bottle. My friend loves sour stuff and beer. Perfect. I don't mind sampling just about any sort of beer, flavored or not.
You should find out what kind of beers they like and pick up a microbrew that they usually don't drink or can't get. Pint glasses, pilsner glasses, beer mugs, or coasters to accompany. ScottieK |

Anybody who drinks bud isn't going to appreciate fancy-shmancy microbrews. Get 'em a keg of bud and some hot porn. |

beer of the month?

beer of the month? [/ QUOTE ] I got 6 months or a year of this for a good friend's birthday back in college. We both thought it was somewhat overpriced (ran about $20-$25/month for 12 beers, if I remember correctly). It may be a good way to try some beers you've never had before, but if you don't have access to them locally, its kind of worthless. |
Re: Need a Beer Related Gift
Well personally I would inclinded to get them some good beer from that region. Like say a couple different Rogue brews.
But if they drink Bud they won't appericate a good beer, most likely. |

Re: Need a Beer Related Gift
right about now Heineken should be coming out with their giant bottles. I think it's 1+ gallon.
You can also go for one of those mini-kegs. They're a sure hit. |
Re: Need a Beer Related Gift
Go to Ebay maybe you can find some Bud memorabilia type stuff. Or maybe old bottles or something like that. Go to beeradvocate.com and look around at on there.
If you can get them to start liking good beer they will love you forever. |
Re: Need a Beer Related Gift
Can we get a little clarification on why a few bottles of beer would be a perfect gift for someone who doesn't seem too discerning when it comes to new beer experiences?
You should be able to pick up a ton of really good brews from out there in SoCal. No need to order online. I'll try to brainstorm some that would be good for someone new to craft brews. |
Re: Need a Beer Related Gift
get each a pony keg and a tap
|
Re: Need a Beer Related Gift
If you do want to do microbrew stuff here are the ones I recommend for your region.
Rogue Stone Dogfishhead Liberty Avery. Oh hey get them all two bottles of Beast by Avery Brewery. It is 15% by volume. And if they can't handle it call them pussies. |

Re: Need a Beer Related Gift
Sorry to bring this thread back, but I didnt want to make a new one just for this.
Anyway I found this. Beer Sampler I know nothing about beer that isnt American or Mexican, but this looked like a good gift. Good? Crap? What does OOT think? Would people that drink Bud dig this? |

To the OP, this looks like an excellent gift for a bud drinker. These aren't the greatest beers in the world, but Pilseners and Euro Lagers won't be too far out there for a Bud drinker to enjoy. It looks like the pack contains the original Budweiser Budvar beer from the Czech Republic which may be interesting to a Budweiser fan. When sold in the USA, they have to call it Czechvar instead of Budvar because of copyright issues so having the European can that says "Budweiser" on it might be cool. |
