Thats not the worst bad beat ever. How about quads vs quads, or nut flush vs Str8 flush? I've lost wit quad 2's to quad 10's,and i won with a str8 flush to a guy with a nut flush (felt good to deal a huge bad beat)

Re: The worst bad beat ever

ooops sorry went back and looked at hand, i didn't think a straight was possible for him, it was 4 7 8 not 2 (apologize for that)

it was in a sit/go so the chip value is meaningless. but it was around 4000, i was chip leader with 5000, so l lost about 1/2 my stack

Re: The worst bad beat ever

one of the worst beats is when they need runner runner, i.e. if you have XX, they have YZ and X is greater than Y and Z (so one boat makes a better one for the other player).

i.e. JJ vs. 63 or J63 flop

Re: The worst bad beat ever

ive actually given the worst possible bad beat, so i cant really complain anymore. although i still do.

villian AQ, hero KK. flop AAQ. all the money gets in (suffice it to say this villian was very loose/terrible and he didnt need to have an A here). turn K. river K. glorious.

11-21-2005 12:22 AM

Re: The worst bad beat ever

On that note, I won with a straight flush, beating both a lower straight flush and an Ace high flush.

Texas Holdem Bad Beats are nothing. 5 card draw bad beats, now those are a thing of beauty. I hope one day to witness villain standing pat on a king high straight flush, while hero takes four cards with the ace of spades and makes a royal. Now thats a statistically improbable bad beat.

Hmmm, even 2+2ers with a lot of posts have started posting bad beats in this thread.

Maybe we should make this the official sticky bad beat thread and contain it before it starts spreading

Re: *WARNING* gay bad beat post

The worst bad beat possible in hold em (IE the worst underdog you can be and still win) is like 989 to one: needing an exact 2 card runner-runner to win. (for example, a pair on the flop to quads by the river). Some of you have runner runner, but your opponent has 5 cards to catch, not 2. This makes the odds LOTS less.

If you have played enough hands you have faced this. Most posters here that play regularly have had the 989:1 happen. After that we have no sympathy for bad beat stories, especially lame ones like OP's.

Binion's heads up in a $200 MTT. Dude won't chop with me. We are about even in chips. First is about $8000 and second is like $4000.

I have JJ and go all in. Foe calls with KK.

Flop is K J 10.

Turn is a 10.

River..... Jack baby. Ship it.

I heart bad beats. I make them part of my overall strategy.

What an awful post. Seriously, you suck at posting. As others have pointed out, it wasn't the only way to lose. There's another Ace in the deck, and a 3-5 makes him a straight.

For the worst bad beat ever, think about losing to ZERO outs when the dealer accidentally mucks the deck and has to reshuffle all the cards (try www.riveredagain.com)

Re: The worst bad beat ever

I once lost quads to a gutshot straight flush draw on the river. That's one out with one card to come. It's all part of the game. You play long enough you WILL take a worse beat than this one.

You will get flamed mercilessly for these posts, and rightly so, no one wants to hear it and if bad beats upset you this much you've got a lot to learn, no offense. What you should have done instead was re-buy and keep playing against the clown who was reraising all-in with a pair of fours...
