Yep. He should have had the surgery as soon as it was diagnosed. He'd be looking at a return around now and he'd likely still have T.O. as a target. And no, I'm not being results oriented. Well, other than the T.O. part.

I assume you mean because Koy should start now?

At the beginning of the season it was understood that McMahon or however you spell his name would be the effective #2 guy if McNabb went down. Koy stays to 'teach'/ assist or some crap.

But also to hold FGs/PATs, and that is the reason he's listed at 2, not 3 on the depth chart.

I made that up based on loose fact. But I'm sure someone like CCX or other Eagles fans could back it up.

I'm pretty sure it's accurate.

I had no idea. I guess I wouldn't be all that pissed then.

Mike McMahon(sp) is my 2nd favorite backup. Behind Doug Flutie that is. So this is pretty sweet in my book.

Re: McNabb told to have season ending surgery

Is it just me or does this give a little credibility to what T.O. said about Brett Farve playing through injuries and still being productive? Granted, T.O. could have put it a little differently, but the guy was being honest.

Re: McNabb told to have season ending surgery

If they Eagles are smart they will not let him come back this season. T.O. basically used him as a personal punching back for half a year but each time he always took the high road in the media eventhough it had to be killing him to not be able to tell people what he thought of the guy. On top of that he suffers an injury very early in the season that prevents him from throwing the ball as accuratly as before and from running with the football. And a third wrinkle is the coach losing his mind with play calling for the first half of the season by asking his injured QB to throw the ball over 70% of the time.

I would take the big paychecks and the women that come with an NFL QB job, and sit my ass on the bench with a frown on the outside and a smile on the inside.

The Eagles can win games, but in the NFC East, all signs are heading to a total collapse. I think they blow enough games to the point where they're knocked out of the playoffs at 8-8/7-9.

Re: McNabb told to have season ending surgery

McNabb should have done this last off season. Last year's superbowl was an obvious indication.

If he would have done it in the off season, we would be coming back right about now, and maybe the Eagles would be in a better spot.

lastchance 11-17-2005 11:16 PM

Re: McNabb told to have season ending surgery

Maybe. But the NFC East this year would mean that the Eagles would have to be real, real strong to contend, and it's not just McNabb.

No, I'm saying Owens said he wasn't (at least not playing well through them).

They haven't blown enough games already to be 8-8??? Blowing more games from here on out makes them 5-11/6-10.
