Call..

Re: Black aces - TAG leads into me
I think you've got a few too many players for a 6 max table.
I make it 30 straight and fold to a 3 bet. If he calls, proceed with caution on the turn. |
Re: Black aces - TAG leads into me
I choose raise. I dont want to give SB odds to call. Will this TAG lead into you with a strong draw?
|
Re: Black aces - TAG leads into me
Three players, oops. Raise here, fold to 3bet sounds about right. 30 or 35 sounds about right.

Re: Black aces - TAG leads into me
why are we calling here an not raising?
you think he limped with JJ? 77 or 33 maybe. 3betting and folding to a reraise sounds better here. |
Re: Black aces - TAG leads into me
Raise and get ready to call his all-in with the flush draw.
<font color="white"> Since you didn't actually play this hand I'll just assume villain is Ghazban with 7d8d</font> |

Re: Black aces - TAG leads into me
call, raise a blank turn
if the turn is a 7, 8, or a diamond fold |

Re: Black aces - TAG leads into me
Raise more pre-flop.
Raise the flop to $30, and fold to a push. If he calls, I check behind the turn. If he checks the river, I bet 1/2 pot and expect to get called by a worse hand. If he bets the river after the turn gets checked through, I call. |

Re: Black aces - TAG leads into me
okay, as a lot of you figured out, this was zaphod's hand from a different perspective. i'm suprised at the number of people here folding to a 3-bet push.
this just goes to illustrate how you can put someone in a bad spot by fast playing big draws. with aces here, i would normally like a call, but it's hard to flat call with SB still to act. it's also hard to call a 3-bet push, but i think that i would. |

I make it 30 straight and fold to a 3 bet. If he calls, proceed with caution on the turn. [/ QUOTE ] This is a major EV mistake IMO. |
Re: Black aces - TAG leads into me
My standard line here is raise the flop to $25, fold to a push by a TAG player.
xorbie, can you explain your reasoning on the smooth call line and why the flop re raise/fold to push line that I and a few others take is -EV? Thanks. I didn't realize at first that this was zaphod's hand. It is interesting to compare them. However, I would argue that very few players at 100NL are capable of pushing with 87s there. Most will just call and define their hand for you. This is why a fold to a push is preferable at 100NL IMO. |
