Picking off a turn blocking bet
My image at the table was as usual LAG/maniac. Therefore his turn bet makes no sense whatsoever. His hand range seems to clearly be something like 44-99. Being able to identify these bets and put pressure on your opponent can add that little extra to your winrate/image/game.

Re: Picking off a turn blocking bet
I agree with your take on the hand, however, a little info on villain might be nice.

Re: Picking off a turn blocking bet
Standard.

Re: Picking off a turn blocking bet
yes very good line taken but like someone else said stats would be nice incase he's a lag/maniac that may come over the top if likes to try and put moves on people.

Re: Picking off a turn blocking bet
It would be pretty suicidal to put a move on someone in this spot.

Re: Picking off a turn blocking bet
Careful, I've known a few opponent's who play a King this way. At least I do a lot against [censored] $200 players. Also, would you raise this much with a King?

Re: Picking off a turn blocking bet
Nice hand,
But I dont like the play, at least not without a very strong read or/and some outs. |

I was seriously wondering if you do indeed play a King this way. And again, I'd be careful as I see Villain playing his King this way. Just trying to keep you out of trouble. Nh. |

This seems pretty standard to me. What then is your usual line? Lead when the flop isn't likely to hit villain? [/ QUOTE ] Most of the time this guy has nothing here. I was inducing a bluff. He was a 40/20 lag. I'd probably never use this line vs a solid player who probably has a hand. |

Guess it depends on whether or not they lean toward weaktight and what they think of me. The way you played this hand it could be perceived from a solid player (if they don't think much of you abilities) that you just hit your KQ or AQ, they'll figure to have that beat or you're not getting anything more out of them anyway. |

What'd you do after his raise?
