I make calls like that as well, especially if you think it's an isolation. I've recently been wondering if stuff like J9o and Q9o, etc are actually +EV in the BB making calls like that though, but I'd need a massive number of hands to figure out profitability of hands like that.

Re: J9o in BB

I suppose the flop call is questionable, but I don't think it's all that bad. Please tell me if you guys think otherwise... that it's bad, without a doubt.

I like it all so far. Two callers kinda sucks bad though. I would proceed very carefully on the turn, and be ready to give this up soon if necessary. You could easily be behind and a lot of cards that improve you also finish draws. Lots of outs against you too, I'm sure.

so you don't think the preflop and the flop was bad on my part?

I call that preflop every time.

Re: THE FLOP

I think it looks good aswell. I would probably give up pretty easily on the turn though, unless you improve.

Re: THE TURN and RESULT

Im not sure you can fold that with the gutshot draw coming in though. You're very likely to have 6 outs, and getting 9-1 on your call is a little bit too much too fold.

i'm folding PF

Re: THE FLOP

i dig on the flop play. reading some of the replies, I do wonder if I'm missing out on some solid situations by folding PF

KDawgCometh 11-12-2005 05:35 PM

Re: THE TURN and RESULT

I'd rather lead the turn and fold to a raise. teh CC on teh flop by the MP sucks, but we do have some outs going into the river if we are just called

Starzinger 11-12-2005 06:26 PM

Re: THE TURN and RESULT

Why are you bet/folding the turn? You have a gutshot and 2 outs for trips, you're getting odds to draw, and i doubt you'll get everyone to fold to one bet.
And you'll get like 10-1 if you bet and he raises, so that cant be right.

Re: THE TURN and RESULT

I like your flop play, but you gotta call that turn with your large number of outs. Preflop is very marginal, getting 7:1. I think I remember Andrew Prock saying something about how unsuited 0-1 gappers need about 12:1 odds or so. Also, considering you are out of position, and possibly dominated, I don't really like it.

Re: THE TURN and RESULT

Call the turn.

Re: THE TURN and RESULT

What if I told you guys, I can even hit an open end straight and a flush combo, let alone something like this. Yea, I know what you guys are saying about the turn... seems like a bad fold. The way things have been going for me lately, if I did stay in and did hit something, it probably would have been something to give me the 2nd best hand.... I wouldve probably hit the 9 to give action to a flopped set... sorry for the rant and thx for the feedbacks.

Re: J9o in BB

LOL!

It just took me like 5 minutes to figure out you were in the BB.

I was going insane, freaking out and getting ready to leave HUSH thinking everyone was telling you to call two-cold with J9o not closing the action.

Ok deep breaths...
