Biggest Pot Ever, at .50/1, 6max
Table is full of loose callers, and crazy raisers, any preflop hand is possible. No stats, haven't paid for PAHud yet. With this much money in the pot on the flop is it wrong to call another bet to see another card? What about the turn play? Any and all comments appreciated.

Re: Biggest Pot Ever, at .50/1, 6max
Yes, it's wrong to call on the flop because you should be raising.

Re: Biggest Pot Ever, at .50/1, 6max
even with the 4 cappers preflop?
|
Re: Biggest Pot Ever, at .50/1, 6max
I agree I would normally raise at most tables, but was a little gun-shy with 4 cappers pre-flop.
|
Re: Biggest Pot Ever, at .50/1, 6max
what do you mean 4 cappers? Only UTG showed strength by raising and capping the hand, the rest just called his and your bets. On the flop you are very likely to have the best hand, play agressivly and raise his bet
|
Re: Biggest Pot Ever, at .50/1, 6max
ok, sorry, one person capped technically, but you know what I mean, 4 people max betted. Was I okay to re-raise pre-flop?

Table is full of loose callers, and crazy raisers, any preflop hand is possible. [/ QUOTE ] In light of this read, this may be the weak-tightest hand ever (a 29.25BB pot isn't even in the same zip code as the biggest .5/1 pot ever, tho). Preflop: you got this street right. Flop: why didn't you raise? Either time the bet got to you? This street should be capped. Tu...huh? FOLDED?! Ok, I'm done, I can't take this. |
Re: Biggest Pot Ever, at .50/1, 6max
Pot should have been bigger, if you helped.

Re: Biggest Pot Ever, at .50/1, 6max
its the biggest I've seen, hands were AA, QQ, and 66, all were trying to slow play the flop I guess.

Re: Biggest Pot Ever, at .50/1, 6max
I know this, but I was worried about AQ, AA, QQ, 66, and A6, since these players would call with anything, I do agree that I had no idea what they may have had, but was just gun-shy on the flop. Raising would have at least given me some information as to where I stood. Just pointing out the hands they had, as I thought this was why the pot got so large.
If I raised the flop and call a cap on the flop, what do I do on the turn if it is bet and raised to me?, at that point I have to call with all the money in pot, but with the expectation of being re-raised and capped. Then what do I do when its 2-bets more to me on the turn? |
Re: Biggest Pot Ever, at .50/1, 6max
I've seen 4 different 120BB pots at .50/1. I'm 0 for 4.

Re: Biggest Pot Ever, at .50/1, 6max
I think I am playing decent at 6max, after 1249 hands my BB/100 hands is 14.71, but I can see that there is much room for improvement. Thanks guys.

Re: Biggest Pot Ever, at .50/1, 6max
Grunching:
Preflop is fine. I would raise the flop, if its 3-bet or capped I would check/call the turn at least. Now on the turn you're only behind to a set of Q's, trip 6's or AQ (the most likely), or AA. I'd stay to the end with this big pot. |

[/ QUOTE ] Listen, you were playing scared, and you wound up folding when you shouldn't have the way the hand was played. The facts that (a) you would have lost and (b) everybody played this hand like crap are immaterial. If the flop had been capped and everybody was still going nuts on the turn, then you probably bail out. As it was, you needed to find a raise on the flop or turn. And, again, your small sample size to the contrary notwithstanding, this is not a remarkably large pot. |

so am I playing poorly based on those numbers? [/ QUOTE ] Many posters here play that many hands in a session. Your results after 1200 hands, particularly playing 6max, have absolutely no correlation to whether you're playing well or badly, and are not any sort of predictor of your future success. |
