From what I've heard Puntacana is great for those on a limited budget. Perhaps someone else who has been there can comment.

down just a ways from atlantis is a holiday inn that does an all inclusive thing and is real nice. They got dirtied up by the huricane (the building took some wear is all) so its even cheaper than normal. I forget the actual price but it was cheap as [censored], had a free breakfast and lunch, free drinks and a private beach area.

I went to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, last spring with my girlfriend and it was great. I can't remember the name of the place now, but it was pretty cheap for a very nice all inclusive. We found it on CheapCaribbean.com which was a great site for searching for deals to all those tropical places.

Trip advisor

Jamaica to echo others, is both beautiful and depending on where you stay, can be cheap. You probably want to go all inclusive.

any thoughts on Nassau Beach Hotel?? Thats the cheapest, 5 days including flight for 2 people 1k.

Re: bahamas

I just spent three days at the Nassau Beach Hotel this weekend and I'd recommend it. It's really cheap, but you get what you pay for. Or don't pay for, in this case. It's pretty run down ( you do not want to go in that pool!) and the service not so great. But- it's fairly clean, it's on a beautiful beach, has more character than the newer resorts and it's directly next door to the Wyndham, which is somehow affiliated. The Wyndham is much nicer and more expensive. We spent all of our time over there on their beach and just slept at our hotel. They also have a casino with a poker room with 50+10 freezeouts on Fridays and Saturdays and 1/2 NL all the time. I paid for my entire trip and then some playing against drunk tourists at night.
