Learning disorder...
20/40 Mirage
2 limpers to me on the button w/KK, and I raise. Big Blind calls, 4 to the flop for 2 small. FLOP: 9 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]8 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]3 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] Checked to MP who bets, 1 fold, I raise, BB folds, MP calls, HU for 6 BBs. TURN: J [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] MP bets into me again, I tank for a sec and then raise, he calls. RIVER: 5 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] He checks, I bet, he calls. |
Re: Learning disorder...
Seems good to me. I like the turn raise since the board is draw heavy.

Re: Learning disorder...
um... standard?
|
Re: Learning disorder...
I normally just call the turn when bet into but this looks like a good spot to raise. 910 is my guess.

Re: Learning disorder...
perfect.

Re: Learning disorder...
Nice hand, standard like he said,
Hope you won and didn't get outdrawn. Seems like a definitely juicy game. JMB |
Re: Learning disorder...
I am having trouble figuring out where the difficulty is. Every street seems standard.

Re: Learning disorder...
huh? where do u think you misplayed this?

Re: Learning disorder...
Word.
In the interest of discussion, what are we doing if: 1. Villain three-bets the turn. (I think we need to call down with 8 outs against two pair; folding the river unimproved is painful but maybe I could do it depending on how the whole thing felt at the time). 2. Villain donk-bets the river. Seems like a pretty easy "just call" scenario. Just a thought. I think it's pretty clear the turn raise is correct but it does create some non-obvious situations we need to consider. |

this is standard

this is standard [/ QUOTE ] Are you folding the river unimproved? I don't think that question is standard at all, personally. (In fact, it really can't be totally standard, because it's going to be pretty read-dependent). |

[/ QUOTE ] I had a hand just like this this past weekend. I did not fold the river u/i, and in the future against a player of this type I would consider folding "standard." That is all. Brett |
Results....
I just don't see enough players raise the turn here. It's quite clear he has JT, and that what he flashed as my KK was good.

Re: Learning disorder...
Smells like JT who made a horrible turn bet.

Smells like JT who made a horrible turn bet. - Jim [/ QUOTE ] Is it really that horrible to mix in some semi-bluff bets? Would it have been better if it had been a semi-bluff CR? psw ok, after rereading the action, it does seem a little wierd to run a stop n go on the turn with a drawing hand... |
Re: Learning disorder...
I don't like the bet if he can't fold UI on the river when he's raised. A CR is better because you are much more likely to A) fold your opponent out-right and B) get a better idea where you stand if called.
I would list them as C/C, C/R and B/C in order of my preference. - Jim |
Re: Learning disorder...
A raise on the turn will probably often be good here, but a J coming on this turn with the 89 from the flop is sufficiently scary that I might just call Villian's Donk Bet.
