River bluff raise

Ive been running good (for a change!) and shown down some good hands as well as some thin value bets/raises.

BB is loose passive, utg just sat and posted so hes obviously a tard, sb seems fairly typical, maybe a little loose passive.

Re: River bluff raise

Doesn't a large portion of UTG's hands consist of weak/mediocre tens? If he's an UTG posting tard, is he folding any pair?

Re: River bluff raise

1) did you already know that sb and bb suck?

2) I'm not sure about this but short handed I find the sng to indicate top pair. In full ring games, it often indicates a new draw or a newly made pair or a pp. But now that I look at it even if it means a new draw, your still screwed.

3) the blinds could have the spade flush and they just look like they suck enough for one of them to call with any pair.

good to see you're still insane

this is totally standard for me. they all muck 90% of the time.

i love it when someone posts UTG - i struggle not to raise any 2 cards in your spot - QJo is a monster

i worry that a poster will call down and show me something revolting like AK or 33

stripsqueez golden rule number 14 is that when you bluff raise the river and it doesnt work you must assume you are a chook - if it does work you are entitled to believe you are a poker deity for as long as it takes to deal the next hand

Don't you mean you get called at least once 90% of the time?

PS i was kidding. river bluff raises are so rare and infrequent and hard to calculate for me that i dont worry about them much.

There's certainly a time and a place for this, but I kind of doubt UTG's firing a busted draw into 3 opponents.

im surprised everyone likes this river play. i think its pretty bad. not only is UTG going to call you with any pair but you have 2 players behind you 1 of which donk bet the flop. the BB will often be calling a raise with a 9 and possibly any pair. you have to hope hes on a busted draw and that UTG has 2 blanks.

truth is, it was a misclick, but they all folded. I immediately designated this hand as the official end of my running bad

everyone was joking it's ok, pretty bad is a pretty bad understatement

also and this isn't meant to be a ride but i think these two statements are contradictory

"shown down some good hands as well as some thin value ets/raises."

I dunno but unless you are playing against players who have mined hands against your or stats from previous play I never find these two facts run in tandem, perhaps in a more aggressive game where showing down "good" winners means you get played back at next time (because you can't have a good hand twice in a row).

Well at least I know what this fish looks like in person.

Thank god it was a mislick. You are going to get this result like never.

I hate it. The field is too large, and the UTG player has shown enough consistent aggression that I dont think he's folding.

vvv standard, but its not really a bluff. your queen is def good more than fifty percent... prob just call a 3bet though.

well played.

Yeah I know it wasnt really a bluff. I just called it that so the weak-tighties wouldnt catch on to the true winning strategy.
