Yea, new account about middle of last month. Play 5/10 5 max... about 15,000 hands since then.

English language hijack.

Has anyone heard the use of "cater" in this fashion before? I believe "catering to" someone's needs / desires is common and appropriate; I've never heard of an item (like an offer) being "catered to" someone. In my experience most will use "tailored to" in this structure and I have never seen the use of "catered to" in this manner.

I got this e-mail too. My favorite part is that there is NO PHONE NUMBER listed for us "special" people.

As I mentioned in the VIP thread, my VIP rep said 4K raked hands a month gets you into VIP. Supposedly everyone with that qualification is getting a tailored offer based on their previous play. I really screwed myself by only multitabling low limit PL/NL games for October so I got a chitty offer (30K hands for $150) Had I known October was a "test" period I would have played higher limits to get a better offer for November. And it didn't matter that I played 25K hands in 2 weeks either, it was the limit that mattered.

There is plenty of info in the various VIP threads to garner some insight as to who gets what, why and so forth.

This lastest e-mail did nothing to bolster my confidence...

alright, so what if one happened to have a deal w/ affiliate to get rakeback,and THEN got invited to VIP club? Am I correct to think that it is always +EV to take any deal they offer? I play x hands and generate y rake, they then give me a bonus b...b+.25(y-b) is always greater than .25*y. Is this correct thinking?

I just emailed them at vip@partypoker.com and asked for a deal, they asked me to play for a few days then they would give me an offer. I played there all last week and they sent me an email today saying they would contact me with an offer in the next few days. So try that.

"We are currently assessing account activity on an individual basis.

We will be sending you an offer November by email early next week."

so...anybody know anything re: VIP bonus plus rakeback potentially being worse than just rakeback? Or am I right that any amount of bonus can only help if you are getting rakeback?

my vip guy refused to put the offer in an email, and insisted he'd only do it over the phone -- seems to be a policy choice on their part...parhaps they don't want everyone copy/pasting/comparing their vip offers...pretty shady this whole thing.

I sent an email to bonus@ and heard back in about 24 hours, an email that said basically the same thing -- that the VIP program was invite-only, and that they would be reviewing my play and getting back to me. They did, they said no. 30k hands (15-20k raked I guess) at 1-2 wasn't enough, which is about $1,000/mo in MGR.
