My take on Exit\'s Micro Challenge...

I was thinking of other sidebets we could make like Exit's micro challenge and I thought of a way that we could structure another event similar to it. Here is what I came up with....

It is essentially one huge last longer over multiple events in a single night. I am using an example with 20 players it would go like this...

For each event 1 point is awarded for every player you outlast that is in the pool. So if you are first out you get the point for entering, 2nd out gets 2 points, 5th out gets 5, and last player out gets 20 points. In addition to these points you get 1 extra point for placing in the money and an extra point for each bracket in pay you move up, including an extra point for every spot moved up at the final table! So here is an example... 4 tournaments for a player...

He finishes 15th or 20
11th of 20
6th of 20 and goes out in the 1st money bracket (+1)
and 1st of 20 and wins the tournament, goes through 5 brackets and 9 spots at the final table (+14)

total: 5 + 10 + 16 + 34 = 65 points

Anyone think this sounds fun? Early in the tourney you are looking to beat the other 2p2'ers and after that you are looking to get deep.

Good idea MR. Jurollo. I would be down fo shizzle
This would include bigger events such as the 11+r right?

Yea, the bigger the fields, the bigger the points would be due to more pay levels. I would be willing to include any events that people were whole heartedly interested in.

i'd be interested, and the scoring system sounds fair, might be hard to gather the results thouugh.

any day during the weekened should be good.

Well all it would take would be to have everyone's screennames and try to update as best as possible throughout the night, still time consuming, but you be fun.

It sounds awesome. I'd love to do it, but I'd never have time.

I dont know how private tournaments work, but could we do this with them?

We get 30 people, and have say 7 or so 30 man tournaments in a night, that way we could have a wider variety of games rather than all NL HE.

Oooh, a KOTZ type thing, all in one night could be fun.

The private tourney thing sounds like fun. If I can get a few days notice I may even be able to do it. Maybe start a new tourney every 20 mins or so from 9:30 EST to 11:30 EST. have 2 NL, 1 Limit Holdem, 1 limit Omaha, 1 PLO8, 1 stud and 1 stud H/L.

I could email Lee, I am just hesitant because everytime I do something like this I get very lackluster turnout.

Awesome idea KneeCo. Not that I know how to play any other game than Hold Em but I would be in it for sure.

The issue with getting interest would be price IMO, if it's cheap enough to enter and a few days notice is given it will be easy to get 30 people or more. If however, we're talking about 7+ 11$ tournaments plus 50$ for the side pool, it wouldn't gather support. A lot people wouldn't be willing to put down that kind real money if the competition is made up entirely of brown trouts.

Hey, what about a wild-card to juice it up a little?

The old "Hammer" challenge: Every time a player takes down a pot with 72o and shows he accumulates 5 extra points!

Best,
