New Forum

Can I change the forum back to the old format? The last two weeks have been so confusing.

I can't figure this thing out either. Does the software just pick some random post to display when you click on a thread?

This shouldn't be a problem if you're reading the forums in flat mode.

Carrying on a conversation has become freaking impossible because of this crap.

Works well enough for me. Flat mode is great.

I think it tries to pick up first unread post.

tries <---- operative word

Re: New Forum

It always has and still does "try" to get the last read post (in flat mode). However, now when you add a post in the middle, it takes you to your post rather than to the post you were replying to. Hence losing your position in the thread.

Long said, I thought, when he first opened the thread. I use flat view and I've had the same experience he has. It's inconsistent. Threaded mode I forgot about. Should have been more detailed in my post. Sorry.

I thought 2+2 was testing a new RNG.

"Upgrades" shouldn't ruin one of your features. If they want us all to read in flat mode (which makes following a particular conversation difficult) then they should get rid of threaded mode --- not just make it horrible to use.

I Agree..........Change It Back

I use the threaded mode and the new format is terrible....
There is a HUGE bug.....that shows posts that I have NOT read as being read.....

Re: I Agree..........Change It Back

Threaded mode is still being tweaked, so don't assume it will stay like this. Even if it does, most of the 'weird' stuff related to the new threaded mode has already been fixed. You may not like the new ordering, but at least now it's consistent.

Nobody should expect to see the old software make a return, though. The big wigs seem to be very happy with the new stuff.

for a week I though I had misconfigured an option - after two browswers and some checking it was obvious someone had [censored] with the settings -

pain in the ass -

I have a better idea.

If you guys still want to discuss the upgrade, there are forums better suited for it. The only reason I'm not moving this is because there are already more than a few threads devoted to this issue.
