It'd be nice if Miami kept it close so they can at least come close to justifying their embarrassingly high ranking. I have a feeling that VT will blow them out though, and Miami will plummet in the rankings to #8 or #9.

They are the best one loss team in the nation if not for a botched snap they are undefeated and this game is even bigger than it is. Who would you rank ahead of Miami? The only teams I can see are Georgia and UCLA, maybe LSU. How it there ranking absurdly high. If you want to make an argument aboust an absurdly high ranking look at the number 8 team with with two losses and zero maybe one quality win.

Which coincidentally is more quality wins than Miami has.

Seriously, Miami lost to FSU and then barely beaten a bunch of scrubs all year. Oooooh boy, they beat Clemson by 4 when Clemson was ranked. Jump for joy.

You say Miami is one botched snap away from being undefeated? PSU is one second away from that feat as well. Except they've played:

Ohio State
Minnesota
Michigan
Northwestern

and after they win today you can tack Wisconsin on that list. Miami has done nothing to justify their ranking with the exception of being from Miami.

I made a silly comment about barely beating the scrubs, I concede that. But you're talking Temple, Duke. Beating up on some of the worst teams at home isn't something to write home to mother about. They just haven't done anything to impress me. Maybe the VT game will change my mind. But I hope not.

I concede. Miami is much better than I thought. They made VT look silly tonight. I will no longer complain about their ranking...for now

I was sad to see Florida win in 2OT. I have no stake in either them or Vanderbilt, but Vandy's comeback at the end was fun to watch. And why was I watching this? Because VT was getting pwned so hard it was almost boring. Miami's defense is ridiculous, and I'm amazed Vick didn't lose the ball more the way he was waving it around out there.

Yeah, that excessive celebration penalty at the end was total bullshit. The guy takes half a dance-step to the right then jumps into his teammate and they flag him. There goes the chance at a 2-pt conversion to win the game

Rankings as they come available. Notice a 1 loss Miami team ahead of an undefeated Alabama team in the #3 spot. What a joke.

You're so right, teams should only be ranked according to their wins and losses; no one should actually watch the teams play and judge who they think is better.

both of these teams have had essentially cupcake schedules i'll admit. but when it comes to this late in the season, you have to reward being undefeated. Especially when the team is undefeated in the best/2nd best conference in the country
