\"Official\" Live at the Bike thread (11/4) (10/20 NL Bluff Night)

Tonight's show will be another Bluff Night, an unrestricted buyin game with another ipon Nano on the line for the most successful bluff of the night. Last night's game featured a $200 NL game with people from musicplustv.com. It wasn't the best poker seen on the show, but they were there to have a good time, and that seemed to be the case. As usual, follow the thrilling action at www.liveatthebike.com from 6-9pm PT.

EDIT: Bart's let me know the show will start at 6:05 so you've been warned.

Barron,

L@TB needs gimmicks. I heard of gimmick that would work really well.

Have a game where you have to bet set amounts on each round. Like before the flop and on the flop you have to bet or raise in amounts equal to the big blind. Then on the turn and river you have to bet or raise in amounts equal to 2 times the big blind.

It sounds like a crazy gimmick but I think it would be great to watch. Never seen anything like that before on L@TB

They've spread a number of limit games on Live@ - you just haven't been watching at the right times. There will be more. Of course, I'm sure you know that NL is so much more popular among the poker public...

KenP, think of the promo as a video screensaver...

They started 15 minutes late, which really isn't excusable. Especially since I was told it would be 5 minutes, then Bart PM's me again saying it'll be 5 minutes starting at 6:10.

Limit would be amazing - perhaps a trial night on Thursday, Nov. 17th?

Ok now it's here, it's pretty much the same old same old and it's not closer than I think it's just 45 minutes up the freeway.

Oh, well, no LATB tonight for me, I guess - I was hoping to catch it for a while...

Have a great night, fellas.

I caught your sarcasm, but I thought you were also not knowing that they do spread limit holdem occasionally. They used to do it weekly, and it was a popular game, with good people that are no longer there now. I kinda miss Vicki, Action Grace, George, etc.

Re: \"Official\" Live at the Bike thread (11/4) (10/20 NL Bluff Night)

Kev, it's kinda seeming like Mo has blown out his bankroll, he hasn't been buying in large lately, since Jonah came back actually. He had a couple of bad days after that too if I recall. Do you think so?

Remember when he said he'd cover the table? That was a few months ago. Now he had to fold that flush draw because of his bankroll, probably.

Good for him to win that pot, maybe he'll be back in the cash soon!

Kevmath 11-04-2005 10:28 PM

Re: \"Official\" Live at the Bike thread (11/4) (10/20 NL Bluff Night)

Not that I know anything, but I doubt Mo's blown his bankroll. Maybe he's just using a different strategy in this game in regards to how much he buys in for the game.

Hello,
I watched last nites show for about 5 minutes and shut it off after the girl folded a pair and 4 flush on the flop. If I wanted to watch girls id go to a porn site. If i want to watch poker I go where poker is being played or shown. I would rather have watched a 2k omaha hi pot limit game 7stud or any variation of poker than the crap you put on last night. How you can charge 15 bucks a month for the archives and stick those kind of shows on is beyond me.
Chicks/Guys (who dont know how to play) in the background fine. Chicks/Guys (who dont know how to play) at the table NOT FINE.

I certainly don't like Russ' choice of avatar, but it's not right for him to be banned over it. A simple request to change it should have been enough.

2 hrs every 3 months fine

Re: \"Official\" Live at the Bike thread (11/4) (10/20 NL Bluff Night)

I would think the only reason for the ban would be that the person it was about would complain about that. I am not saying she did. I am just saying that is the only reason i can see for it. I mean there are alot of avatars that are not very pc.

Agreed, but I don't think she was the one that asked for it to be removed.

Anyways, there's enough threads in this forum to talk about her, and it'll surely pick up again on Tuesday's episodes.

quick question for bart and dave?

I was just curious on what you guys feel is the right amount for tipping the dealers? I still have trouble myself figuring out what the right amount is. I basically over tip now becuase I would rather be on the safe side then the jerk.

Kevmath 11-04-2005 10:59 PM

Re: quick question for bart and dave?

You should also consider who the person is making the bluff against. Dr. BB and Allen are bluffed off of hands much easier than the rest of the table.

It'll help to actually see some bluffs for a good amount of money on the show tonight.

Re: quick question for bart and dave?

$1 for 99% of pots and something more for giant once a month wins.

but kevmath isnt that playing it well by taking advantage of the player. I dont think that is worth any less.

Security issue

HI,

Just a short question about security during the live game.
1. Is the show live (realtime) not recorded from yesturday ?
2. I saw a couple of times player with their cellphone on the table.
3. Now my idea: What about a friend of you watching the game from home and every time you should raise during the game he calls you on the cellphone. In case you have to raise he let the phone ring twice. And because you have no sound you only feel the vibration of the phone.

Think about it!

Greetings from Germany

Mike,

The show is on a 5 minute delay to prevent something like that from happening. They do try to discourage people from actually using cell phones at the table, but it's a little harder on Wednesday nights with the whale game.

I don't think she requested it as well, at least not requesting a banning. She hasn't taken a lot on these boards and has stood up to it incredibly. A lot better than I would. She has tried to explain her play as much as possible and as to the jokes, she has replied with such comments as "have at it." I don't know her personally, but I'd be surprised if she made any request concerning Russ. The way she has handled herself has earned my deepest respect (although that's probably not worth a lot)

Re: \"Official\" Live at the Bike thread (11/4) (10/20 NL Bluff Night)

How would Dr BB be a fish in a limit game? If he continued being super weak-tight, I don't see how he would get run over any more than he does in NLHE. In fact, I would think he would do much better in limit.

Hi,

How many people watch Live at the Bike per night, aprox.?

Mike

Kevmath 11-04-2005 11:15 PM

Re: viewer count

I'd say about 5-10k on average, along with however many watch the LA Poker Scene shows on the Poker Channel in the UK.

Nathan_2 11-04-2005 11:18 PM

Re: viewer count

I'd guesstimate they average 1000 the last few months.
