MTT forum split?

-- MTT strategy
-- MTT non-strategy Q's and 'sweat'.

Anyone agree?

(note - I don't even come in this forum that much and am hardly a 'regular'. Just tossing out an idea for those of you who ARE regulars)

I dont agree. And splitting a forum doesnt seem to be that easy. I think the HUSH split should take priority over MTT split.

I've always been for that.

This has been talked about before.

I don't really like the idea, but I do see the appeal of it, especially for people who don't come to the forum often and drop in only to see a page full of non-useful info.

It's up to the mods I guess. I do think we need to stress that FT sweats are reserved for when you make the FT and I think there are too many **Official** threads.

Almost all threads are already strategy-related. We have a few sweat threads and the rare off-topic or brag thread but I personally don't feel like they are disruptive and in fact are helpful to see how the advice is paying off in real results.

I don't think a split is necessary. I like seeing sweat threads interspersed. I think there *could* be merit in splitting to a Mid-High and Small stakes, but I'm fine with things as they are.

I've always hated the official threads, and they're getting more and more out of control by the day. At first it was reserved for the higher buyin tournaments, now $3 rebuys are getting their own threads, and this takes the cake.

Theres nothign wrong with 'official' threads, but there are getting to be a lot of them.

Maybe cut down to:

40k
45k
Big Sunday Tournies.

Personally, I don't even "see" most of them. Meaning I've somehow filtered them out of my scan and ignore (most of) them completely. I think as long as there is fairly wide appeal a thread is okay with me.

Re: MTT forum split?

i disagree.

i don't see why one type of 'sweat' or 'official' thread should be allowed an not another.

Not everyone likes to play the 10+1 rebuy on Stars.
While others like to play the 3+0's.

If there really is some benefit to having the 'official' threads where 2+2'ers can get together and share their hands, experiences, and updates...then discriminating against the 3+0 'official' threads would be akin to saying micro-limit players aren't allowed to post strategy posts.

we all started somewhere.
I started in freerolls and $1 stars tourneys.

Just think that IF sweat threads are going to be allowed, then saying "yes, but only sweat threads for THESE tourneys" is a bit unfair.

Lets say a bunch of 2+2'ers got into one of the Party 20k freerolls that they're doing (for their 3-billionth hand promotion).
The value of this freeroll is about that of a $6 buy-in.
It certainly isn't big money.
But I see no reason why a bunch of 2+2'ers shouldn't be allowed to have their own thread about it just because it's so much lower than where many other 2+2'ers play.

(I know I've made this argument before....but that was a few months ago....sorry for repeating myself).

Re: MTT forum split?

I wasn't saying anytyhing about 'sweat' threads.

They are two different things..

the "official" ones, are usually tournaments with lots of 2+2ers playing

the "sweat" threads, are any tournament w/ a 2p2er at the FT.

I have no probelm with Micro FT sweat threads (and really i hav eno problem with whatever 'official' threads either, but i'd be fine with less of those)

Re: MTT forum split?

yeah...sorry.

when I said 'sweat' I really meant 'official'.

I think of the 'official' threads as 'hey...lets all sweat each other' threads or something like that.

Some think there are 'too many' 'official' threads but I think the lower-stakes players are just as deserving of an 'official' thread as anyone else.
