Middle pair with EP Bettor

Straightforward PFR, limpers are all loose and passive. What do you do in this spot, and what's your plan for the rest of the hand? Many thanks guys

Fold. This hand is pretty worthless. Your chances of being best right now are pretty nil. You are lucky if you have 5 outs.

With only one limper in front of me, I probably fold this preflop.

On this flop I'd just call. Change the A to something else and I'd like a raise, but with the A (and a straightforward preflop raiser who raised out of the big blind) it's too likely that you're bloating the pot with a second best hand.

Getting 12:1, hero doesn't need 5 outs. I call this.

Fold the flop. The board is draw heavy and you won't be able to fold flush draws nor straight draws with a raise. A 9 puts three to a straight on the board and any heart puts out 3 to a flush. Your outs are extremely tainted here.

*grunch*

This is a relative large pot (getting 10-1 with possible 2 more bets going in behind), and the PFR has already acted. I probably call and peel one here to see if I make trips, two pair, or snag an OESD on the turn.

Edit : I like Avistons thinking though.

If I'm calling, am I raising to maybe buy a 9 for three outs, and maybe even take a free card on the turn?

EDIT: Thanks all for the feedback

I dump this one preflop. With 3 folds ahead of me I'm figuring I probably won't get enough multiway action to justify a call.

Me three.

And no, I'm not raising the flop. That just means I'm paying too much to draw when I'm almost certainly behind. My 9's are as clean as they're going to be.

Re: Middle pair with EP Bettor

I'm having a really hard time giving Hero even close to 5 outs here. I agree that a 7 is clean and will most likely send the pot Hero's way. However, the 9s are so dirty it hurts me.

First off, a 789A board puts three to a straight on the board. If there isn't a JT, T6, 56, already out there, then other possible holdings such as QJ have picked up a redraw for Hero to dodge on the river.

Second, the 9 of hearts really makes me want to vomit.

Third, any of the A-middle holdings (A9-A7) will now have completed a higher two pair.

If I can find it in my heart to give his hand 3 outs, then I could see calling if the two to act had already called and he was closing the action. Getting 12:1 immediate pot odds on a 15:1 draw really doesn't make me happy calling when I'm not closing the action.
