I'll start at the top.. "I'm pretty sure I was the only 23 year old in the world that thought he would win the WSOP Main Event" [/ QUOTE ] He should have said "I'm pretty sure I was the only 23 year old with red hair, glasses, and acne in the world that thought he could win the WSOP Main Event." Even then, he's probably wrong. I like "I can dodge bullets, baby." He then proceeds to get shot. |
Re: Best quotes of the 2006 WSOP ME (ESPN)
Phil's rant after his AK loses to KJ. Something about them playing poker and these guys can't even spell poker.
|
Re: Best quotes of the 2006 WSOP ME (ESPN)
"I'm stone dead. I'm a Superstar!"-Mike Matusow.
|
Re: Best quotes of the 2006 WSOP ME (ESPN)
"I don't think you have the nuts..."
Tiffany Williamson while debating whether or not to call all her chips off preflop with KJ. Oh, and Farha's explanation to why his AQ was a favorite over QQ on an undercard flop. "Well I've got a queen, so you can get any of those, and I have an ace, so that makes me a favorite right?" |

Kiddy games are down the street.
|
Re: Best quotes of the 2006 WSOP ME (ESPN)
I don't care if insted of "At's wut um tolkin aboot" he stood up and gave a dissertation on how to best eliminate world poverty, I'd have kicked him in the nuts for popping his collar anyway.

after bluffing out another player, "The kiddie game is over there" Mike Matasow [/ QUOTE ] My hand would have gone flying across the table in his face.. Also even if the other guy called his bluff matasow had about 9 outs so it wasn't a complete bluff.. he could have gotten a Q a K or a 10(i belive for a straight) |
Re: Best quotes of the 2006 WSOP ME (ESPN)
Daniel N (after being raised all in preflop): "Are you serious, do you really have a strong hand? You aren't just goofing around are you?"
Other guy: "Well it's the world series..." Daniel: "Which means...?" |
Re: Best quotes of the 2006 WSOP ME (ESPN)
This really isn't a quote, more of a facial expression that made me laugh, because you could imagine what he's thinking.
When Sam Farha knocked Goldie Hawn's son (forgot his name) out on the first hand with the AAATT fullhouse. Then later when he was telling Tobey Maguire and Tobey looks back toward the table with his jaw dropped open. I thought that look was kinda priceless. |

We've all seen enough of Matusow on TV now to know that he just likes busting everyone's balls at the table. Very little of what he says could, and should, be taken seriously. If you can't learn to tune out other players' table talk, you shouldn't be playing the game. You know you wouldn't have done [censored], no one else on this forum would have done [censored], and that's that. Same goes for Hellmuth and his antics. Anyone here claiming that *they* would be the ones to jump across the felt and throw a punch is absolutely full of it. |

I can't wait to see his beat at the final table where the guy hits running hearts to beat him. |

Re: Best quotes of the 2006 WSOP ME (ESPN)
If you cannot cope with Matusow, the proper response when Matusow motions in the direction of the kiddie game: "No, isn't that the direction of the jail?". That oughta have him taken an N*10min break.

Russ, your avatar is priceless!
...As far as quotes go, all the good poker-related ones have been taken. I'll contribute one by Norman Chad, when the smelly Scot's "NO NO NO NO NO NO NO...YES! YES! YES!" schtick was still fresh on day one: "Brings back memories of my wedding night, Lon." |
