Party MTTs frozen

here we go again....

tournaments were frozen, then paused, and I just got disconnected.

I've never seen tournaments paused like this. Is this a prelude to cancelling tonight's tournaments?

Was frozen for 2 hours a couple of months ago in the $40k. On the bubble as well, we actually restarted that time.

I hope it doesn't take as long.

I am on 30/3 35k guaranteed. 5th in chips with 33 left.

Just checked the cancellation policy. It's not actually that bad. I should be getting atleast 700$.

One day I'm going to email Party and say I sent them my password just like they asked and see if they yell at me.

So....I was trying to play in this Super. But I guess we're going to be paused constantly. What are the chances that we'll be back up and totally running? (we've been paused twice, so far, in the first half hour). Does this look like a cancel and refund situation?

I think so. I'm sitting in it myself. The lobby shows no tables & players (except the player list)... But when do we dare leave the table? I really don't want to be registered as having left the tour voluntarily.

In the 2 and a half years I've played in Party tournaments I've never seen this, although I've heard of one or two other similar incidents.

Neither common, nor uncommon. Usually the tours do start again though.

Re: Party MTTs frozen

yea the cancellation policy is nice, they split the prize pool right? just too bad i wasnt that deep in the tourney. congrats to the dude in the 35k guaranteed.

Anyone still at a table?

My Party client shut down, and when it came back up it can't find the Super at all. Anyone still at their table?

Seriously?I've been on Party about the same amount of time and I've seen it hppen at least 15-20 times. It's cyclical.

Re: Party MTTs frozen

I've heard about this happening on party at least 3x since I've started posting here again. I haven't played at party much, and I don't think this is going to get me to start either, even if I am only a weekend warrior.

Re: Party MTTs frozen

bah so when do I get my money back? I was in the $11 mtt with like 1.3k people left when the crashing started.

now the tourney is closed but I'm still sans cash

11-01-2005 11:50 PM

Re: Party MTTs frozen

same here. i was in both of them. now they're both gone, and i am still $22 less than i started in my account. whats the standard procedure on refunds/payouts in these type of situations?

KneeCo 11-01-2005 11:55 PM

Re: Party MTTs frozen

I believe they do a % chop for all remaining players based on chip counts.
(i.e. if you were playing in a tourny with a 40,000$ prize pool and you have 10% of the chips in play at the time of the freeze, you'll get 4K).

I actually won a nice pot on the last hand before the freeze, if they do they kind of chop I better get credited for those chips.

EDIT: Yup, I wasn't credited for the last pot. Dammit. I guess I'll waste my time and write an email.

Huskiez 11-01-2005 11:57 PM

Re: Party MTTs frozen

They gave me a $164.92 refund for a $162 buy in when I had less than 1000 chips. A nice gesture I guess.

Kharnage 11-02-2005 12:00 AM

Re: Party MTTs frozen

just received an email now,
Your share of the minimum prize pool award = $0.00
Your share in money equally divided = $52,350.00/653 = $80.17
Your share based on your chip count = $52,350.00 * (1445/698000) = $108.38
Your entry fee refunded = $12.00
Total money refunded = $200.54

I had 1445 chips

Re: Party MTTs frozen

well, I think my tourny ($100 buy in 35K) is officially cancelled. I had double the average chips when it stopped and was looking forward to going deep, but alas. At least I'm gonna make like 300 bucks out of it....

Re: Party MTTs frozen

I still haven't gotten anything from the $11
