Sarah Polley : Hot or Not?
 

The waifish Toronto actress who starred in last year's Dawn of the Dead; eXistenz; The Sweet Hereafter; Last Night; and many others. I'm a fan, I think she has great screen presence, is a very good actress, and is quite charismatic but, for the hell of it, how good-looking would you say she is?

She looked very curvy in the zombie movie. Definitely not the usual waif there. She seemed unremarkable as an actress in that one.

She strikes me as one of the ones who can really be transformed by the way she is shot. Id put her anywhere between a 7 and a 9 depending on the day, and from the kind of 7 who appeals to me to the kind of 7 who is just not to my tastes. I don't like either of the pictures on the left, and the one on the bottom left is awful, but she looks great on the bottom right picture.

I think in terms of female actresses who are suppossed to be hot she isn't anything special.

However outside that environment and into a normal setting she would fall somewhere between pretty to hot. If I had to give her a number it would be something like an 7.5 - 8.

I thought the top left one was the best that I found, but I'd agree that it probably depends on how she is shot on film. Unfortunately, there are, of course, much worse pics of her out there...for instance:

Well, that's the thing. I don't think she's supposed to be the one you go to when you're looking for a great looking lead. But there's always that problem with "serious" actresses. That is, how good-looking do they have to be without repulsing an audience?

She's one of those odd ones. On the "Objective Hotness Meter" she doesn't get a top ranking, but I find her attractive as hell.

i loved dawn of the dead, but the only reason she was attractive there was everyone else was dead. she's not hot, almost unattractive. i give her a 4.

I love the Existenz reference.
My Dad has this british friend Mike who is a 50+ non-gay confirmed bachelor who watches a ton of movies and is convinced they all suck. He was one of few people to have a laser disk player in the 80's for chrissakes. Anyways, every thanksgiving or christmas he comes over and brings movies to watch, and talks over them to explain how they are all crap in an english accent which is hilarious. He prefers Sci-fi, like Flatliners, Scanners 1 & 2, Bladerunner etc. and he brought over "Existenz" with Jude Law (i think) and the chick in this thread. He did not talk over this movie, which makes it good. So yeah I guess the chick is really hot by normal chick standards and average by movie starr standards. just felt like sharing.
