Pokerstars Tournament Wish List.

Kudos to Pokerstars for it new Fall Lineup of tournaments. With new the 8/16 levels, deep-stack/short-handed tournies, nightly 150s and all, Stars is definetely the coolest site on the internet to play tournies (if not necessarily the most +EV).

Now, if you would just add the following types of tournies we'd be all set:

Deep Stack-format HIGH BUYIN tournies, $200-1K. Makes sense, right?

Higher buyin LTT tournaments; I enjoy the $10 buyins with the 10 min-levels, but how about some $50-$150 (or higher) turbo-style MTTs.

Higher buyin TURBO 2-TABLE SNGs. I'm almost certain you'd get more $200-buyin 2-tables going every day if they were turbo or LTT format. (Also wouldn't mind seeing 1K STTs with shorter blind rounds--like 7 minutes)

Sharks with laser beams.

That's all for now; keep up the good work Stars. Can I have my chat back please?

I agree with every one of those.

I can live without the sharks with laser beams, sigh.

But yeah, I'd love all of those.

Re: Pokerstars Tournament Wish List.

Stars treats us micro-MTT donks well too, but here's the wish list from my end of the MTT spectrum.

1. I'd love to see some $1/$2/$3/$5 MTTs in PL Omaha/8. I don't understand why we have no micro-tourneys in this game as opposed to a frankly inferior game like limit omaha high.

2. Some more 5-minute and 10-minute level tourneys at the micro-limits. Sometimes I only have a few hours and will play another site's MTTs because I don't want to risk staying up half the night if I go deep.

3. How about some $3 or $5 rebuys in PLO?

4. How about more PLHE events in general? I think it's a superior game to NLHE but don't get to play too many MTTs in PLHE?

5. Since I'm a fan of draw poker, I'd be in heaven if Stars introduced any kind of draw game (A-5, 2-7, triple draw, draw high) and made it a tournament game, preferably pot-limit for draw high, limit for triple draw, and no-limit for 2-7 single draw (KC) lowball.

6. Let the $1/$2/$3 people back in the Weekly Round 2 with the freeroll donks, especially since we are paying that $0.10/$0.20/$0.30 rake now.

7. Lee, maybe we can turn back time and stop raking the $1/$2/$3 MTTs. OK, didn't think so; couldn't hurt to ask

I'd love some 10 buck 180 man tourneys, and not just holdem, would love stud also (although I am probably in the minority there).

Re: Pokerstars Tournament Wish List.

cheaper 180 man tourneys w/ omaha and stud as well ($5, $10)

Re: Pokerstars Tournament Wish List.

$25-2 180man Turbo SNGs.

I would play ALL day

add sng satelites to sng satelites( the $65 to enter the 700k should have a satelite of its own)

I believe they've said they're working on programming draw games.

Paying ~20% of the field in the micro buy-in MTTs was NOT on my wish list.

I would love to see the 25+2 180 Turbo! Also I would like atleast a 50 dollar 180.

11-22-2005 01:18 PM

Re: Yuck

$1, 5, and 10 180 SNG's please. It won't be long before my bankroll can handle the $20, but it would be AWESOME to have these lower buy-in large field tourneys. And with all of the donks who are playing for fun, it should be highly profitable.

Re: Yuck

Yes. Get rid of the 20% payout structure on low buyin MTTs, its just not woth it. Also $10 180 man tourneys and turbo versions of them.

I have a question about this payout structure, is the top 10 still paying as much as it did when it was paying 10%?

I agree with many of the others- more 180 man SnGs of various buyin levels.

Where are the Deep Stack tourneys? I saw them mentioned on the website, but haven't seen one on the tourney board- are they specifically labeled?

My most fervent wish-

Tournament points for SnGs! I play a ton of them (since the time commitment is so much lower than a large MTT), and it would be nice to earn points for them.

Re: Pokerstars Tournament Wish List.

I play almost exclusively in SNG's so I, too, would like to see this.

HORSE and SHOE tournaments, obviously.

And if they want to make 10K off-limits for FT chops in the Sunday tournament, they should add 10K to the prize pool.

I agree. This is the #1 problem with PokerStars software IMO. Why should I be able to skip my big blind completely, just because the player on my right busted out on his big blind?

Turn back the microlimit MTTs to 10% payout. My friend got 4th in a $3+.3 last night with 2000 entrants and only got paid $250. This is ridiculous.

They are easy to spot, highlighted in blue and say the tournament name and amount, and then "- Deep Stacks". For example, there is one starting at 18:15 on 11/22/05 and it says "Omaha Pot Limit $20+$2 - Deep Stacks" and is highlighted in blue.

Why? Do tournament points actually have some real value? Seems like mixing them and MTT would be very hard to balance.

Single table satellites to the nightley $150 so they can get big and fishy like the nightly Party $150.

Agreed. Also I think they should make sats for the $200 Heads Up tourney on the weekend and expand the field.

They could easily create a SNG leaderboard, with some auxillary prizes.

A monthly 1k tournament, so like every 2 weeks you would have either the 1k tourny or the 500 one.

Lots of people seem to be saying this. If they do add other options for 20-tablers, I hope they only do do so for peak hours.

I honestly can't imagine why someone wouldn't want to play these things at the highest stakes they can afford, though. The play is SSSOOOOO bad.

Jurollo 11-22-2005 06:58 PM

Re: Pokerstars Tournament Wish List.

lower buyins in the 20 tables would dillute the poor players in the $20s and make them fill up slower too, I think they should offer one buy in level each day and possible 2 game choices, NLHE and another game. I really think that adding sats to the $150 would be great as well as the $200 heads up and the $1000 monthly or even bi-monthly would be great as well. I think the deep stacks are great but I think they should either make it t5000 chips with 20 min levels or t3000 with 30 so they don't take half a lifetime to play, it was a great idea, but it needs some tweaking.

Edit: Also if they start adding more than one level of SNG MTTs each day they would likely have to rework the lobby as they would have half of the tourney window covered with SNGs, so they would need to resize the tourney listing window or something of the sort, I think the lobby should be changed around anyway.

Re: Pokerstars Tournament Wish List.

On behalf of the fish who would play these satelites, I say yes as well.

I don't really want 180 man tourneys of different buy ins. They fill up quickly enough now, but it would hurt if there was a 5, 10 and 20 180 SnG.

Rid of the 20%, but I guess the even bigger fish than me loves it so it's staying.

Speaking of chat, I wish they would fix the "disappearing chat" problem where you just lose what you've been typing if somebody happens to have gone all-in before you press enter. Your chat should be saved in the system and then it could appear when the action is complete.

OUCH $250 for 4th of 2000

BBOOOOO - paying 20% of the field has to be the worst...
