One of the very few times I've enjoyed a sequel more than the original. Highly recommend Saw II if you're into the genre.

It was good for a laugh. Nothing more.

The entire theatre was dying of laughter when he kicked the [censored] out of the cancer patient. What a stupid movie.

i thought it was decent for what it is. there were at least two times I squirmed, so that was good. and the twist at the end wasn't bad either.

seven set the bar so high for movies like this, that it's easy to dump on the films that follow. if you dug the first one however, you'll like this one for sure.

Same thing as the first one. A very, very good plot IMO with a very good twist and many points in the movie to take stabs at guessing the ending. However, poor acting and mediocre directing. But def. worth a visit to the theaters.

is this movie a blood & guts psychological thriller type thing, or is it like scary make me afraid to go to the bathroom alone and give me nightmares for a week type of movie ? i scare easily.

blood and guts...it's not going to get into your head. it's a gore fest type of thing...

It was alright. I was kinda confused on if I liked it or not. I laughed when he threw her into the pit of needles. It was alright I guess, but the cop guy can't act for [censored].

Decent plot in an uneccessarily gorey movie. Its' smartness surprised me at points though.

Beverly Mitchell (Lucy Camden from 7th Heaven) has really filled out nicely... [img]/images/graemlins/grin.gif[/img]

I laughed at 3/4 of the audience when they all jumped/screamed at the "boo" moment.

am i the only one who thought it was weak that they left out what the beverly mitchell character was framed for? i think her quote was, "does it really matter?"...which i guess it didn't.

Re: Movie: Saw II

It was weak. So was her death.

And if you're pissed that I said that, then you shouldn't be watching horrer movies. The hot chicks ALWAYS die.

Re: Movie: Saw II

liked both of them. i also went into both of them excusing bad acting b/c that goes with the genre. it gets tiresome when everyone keeps knocking the acting but the acting is bad in every horror/thriller that has ever been made. i didn't go to see an oscar winning performance from a new kid or cary elwes.

as for saw II, i thought it definately held its weight as far as sequals go and left the door open for a third so get ready.

I saw it earlier today and thought it was shot better and there was better acting than the first one.

If you like horror/scary/gore movies than this is a must see.

It would not suprise me in the least if it was better than the first. It would be hard not to be.

Re: Movie: Saw II

I just got back from seeing it. I think the first one is the better of the two, but the second one was more violent. There are a few things in the movie that didn't quite add up, namely the ending and the seemingly irrational behavior of that really jacked guy. It's worth the trip to the theatre because movies like this really don't translate well onto DVDs.

Uhhh, given the circumstances, I can understand a little irrational behavior.

the first movie was one of the worst pieces of garbage I have ever sat through. Cinematic crap. Made by people who have no clue about story, pacing, acting or film technique. If you liked it, then you have no clue about such matters, either.

I can't comment on the second one since I have not seen it.

NobodysFreak 10-29-2005 08:11 PM

Re: Movie: Saw II

The guy just came off as being really contrived. Irrationality in that situation is the last thing anyone needs. Everyone else was starting to piece things together and he goes crazy. He could hardly stand, was coughing up blood, yet pounding like a madman on a steel door only to do a 180 and reach his senses when he finds the two of them in the basement. It never occured to him that he needed his own number? I'd much rather cut a two inch section of my neck out than work with everyone else who's stuck in the same situation.

I used to, yes. And anything I've made in porn is better than that piece of garbage.

Oh, and by the way? I've also sold feature length screenplays, produced and directed commercials and music videos, and was a staff writer for a sitcom. So yes, even though I have worked in both the legitimate and the adult side of the film industry, I feel I have a valid point of view when it comes to filmmaking.

Just as anyone who likes the movie Saw has a valid POV, even though I don't agree with it.

Re: Movie: Saw II

Saw it tonight. The paper gave it terrible reviews (1 1/2 stars/4), but it was better than I expected. First one is still better, as it is a mystery as well as a slasher film. The second does not have as much mystery elements in it.

I recommend this movie if you have seen the first. This one is more gory, but lacks the guessing that the first has. A general rundown of the movie is 7 people are locked in a house and are forced to find clues in order to leave the house. There is a nerve gas that is slowly killing them, which will kill them in 2 hours. Thats the basic gist of it.

Watched Doom at the Grand tonight, it was mediocre if you like the video game, and terrible if you've never played it before. I'm not sure why I'm posting this here, but I don't like creating new threads while drunk for fear of [censored].

I saw it on friday. I liked them both. I can't decide which one i liked better but I think I liked Saw 1 more but I watched part of "House of Wax" later the same night after seeing saw II which made Saw II look like the best movie ever.

Re: Movie: Saw II

its really [censored] lame to have a bunch of big titty girls, one not wearing a bra, who dont manage to get naked during the enitre movie.

Saw II sucked. There was no character development. These types of movies are supposed to be about the characters caught inside these events and their reactions, etc.

All this movie was about was triyng to throw a bunch of twists and curves at you and gore and blood and guts. they didnt even have the common curtiousy to have one of the chicks take her tits out.

edit: take the spaghettio-o's scene from seven. that is gruesome but funny and creative and cool in general.

none of the gruesome scenes in Saw II fits that description.

The first one was pretty bad. I saw the second one last night and it was very enjoyable. Still not a great movie, but it was much more fun and a much better movie. I'd recommend it.

I thought it was good.....so I'm going to have to watch the first to be able to get the whole storyline !

Re: Movie: Saw II

To those who saw "SAW II" I have 2 extremely important questions (spoilers):

1. Why did the guy cut off the back of his neck when he could have just showed the woman and the kid his number and then tortured them to tell him his number? 2. The cops ended up in the actual house, just after the fact, right? But at the same time that Wahlberg is down in the tiled room below, right? And it wasn't very hard for Wahlberg to find that room, right? SO AREN'T THE COPS GOING TO SEARCH THE WHOLE HOUSE AS A CRIME SCENE AND EASILY FIND WAHLBERG AND FREE HIM FROM THE CHAIN? Game over, my ass.

Anyway, both movies were a lot of fun. You must see the first one first, though.

SPOILERS!!!!

1. The dude was dying from toxins and clearly insane. The girl pointed out that he needed them to see his number, and he decided he would rather mutalate himself.

2. The cops did no go to the right house. The house they went to had tapes of the other house and was broadcasting them. The events of the house happened hours before, thats why they were able to put the son in the safe.

1 - okay.

2 - I know it was later and they were broadcasting the videos, but it sure looked like the same house. Remember how the cops had to bust in through the front? I think that was double door that had "EXIT" painted across it from the inside. It sure looked the same, although it was a very quick scene, so I can't be sure.

As I understood it, the house the police went to was a "copy" of the real house, but with the computers and stuff in it.

Why would jigsaw create a "copy" of the house? He could have just broadcast the tapes from a different location (which is what some people are suggesting). But it sure did look like the same house (or a copy).
