Run a search for scalf's posts, and it's pretty easy to find. OOT has been on a crackdown for a while now. It's pretty much covered in [censored]'s guide to the forum stickied at the top. Not a friendly place for newbies. When scalf stopped on by over there, you can imagine that his posts weren't welcomed. You gotta admit, it takes some getting used to the guy, until you realize he's solid.

He made a weird comment about OOT itself, and then followed that up by talking about racism as a positive value. Exactly the kind of stuff that [censored] will ban you for.

Anyway, I also hope he's only banned from OOT. Perhaps Lori or someone else who is recognized in that forum can PM [censored] and ask for scalf to be reinstated, but banned from OOT. That seems to be [censored]'s customary policy, to ban somebody to get their attention, then reinstate them on the grounds that they either never repeat the offense, or never post in OOT again, under threat of permanent banning.

I'm not recognized in OOT, in fact, doubt I'm recognized anywhere since I don't post a ton, so I'd rather that others ask for scalf's reinstatement. So who's gonna PM [censored]?

OOT is quickly developing a really thin skin, which is ironic given the forum's past. I looked at Scalf's last few posts and couldn't see anything worth banning him over.

2+2 having moderators was not a bad idea. However the execution of having mods is poor. Take a test, become a mod and then exercise fascit powers to spit on the first amendment. I suppose now I'll be banned.

I read the last few posts by both Indiana and Scalf. I didn't even see anything offensive at all. I've seen TONS of stuff in there much worse.

It's hard to believe a guy can be banned for saying, "I'm just trolling here..." when you see some of the topics discussed and pictures posted there. Some real backwards rules there. They tear every subject apart and can't even get a simple concept right.

I don't think the politics of that forum are worth debating as there are obvious plus and minus points and they have been done to death over there. What I do hope is that [censored] is aware that scalf is a valuable poster on the rest of 2+2.

Not a shock considering some of the stuff scalf has posted in oot. [censored] is banning left and right.

All scalf has to do is create another username (NotScalf ?).

I certainly wouldn't ask [censored] to allow scalf to post in OOT, that's entirely [censored]'s choice.

I just hope he's aware that scalfie is not worthy of a site-wide ban (if indeed that's what scalf got... we don't know for sure of course)

I have PM'd [censored] to ask if he knows that scalf is valuable elsewhere. He may be working on incomplete information.

He can be a complete dick, I've told him that straight up.

That being said, he has done wonders for OOT. I realize scalfie is a fan favorite around here, and rightfully so, but the stuff he posted in OOT was pretty lame and I have no problem with [censored]'s decision provided scalfie can continue to post on the rest of the board.

You're wrong. I'm not saying there's always intelligent stuff in there, but for the most part it is stuff that can generate discussion. I think scalf just went in and babbled a bunch of nonsense and ended with a bunch of graemlins.

Honestly, I hope he comes back. He's beginning to grow on me, but if he's not contributing ANYTHING to OOT, he's going to get banned. You don't have to like it, but that's the way things are being run nowadays.

It's just a popularity contest in there.

What some find interesting others may not. What some think are vulgar, others may not. What some find interesting, others may not. By moderating based on these things, it just comes down to whether you are liked or not. It's really pretty sad. I honestly don't care. I'm just pointing out that these things are all left to interpretation and are things that cannot be defined clearly.
