I would like to hear your reasons for checking, as it is something I would rarely do in this spot.

Button capped, I assume they're checking to c/r button and sb.

check, then raise, then cap... then bet, bet, ship it.

In short. If you bet there is no guarantee that BT will raise with worse hands than yours. But if you check there is almost a 100% certainty that he will bet, which gives you the opportuniy to CR and trap SB for at least 2 SB with a hand that is probably very weak...

The pot is huge, dont we want to maximize our chance to win it? I think button raises this flop almost every time to try shut out the other players. You are pretty much working with him as a team on the flop, both of you benefit by giving the others bad odds so there is no reason for both of you not to do it.
If you CR and someone else picks up a profitable draw on the turn which he would have folded to a flopraise, thats really bad in such a big pot.
I think its interesting, both lines make sense. But which one is actually better? I always try to win the big pots as often as possible.
Actually it just comes down to this question:
Do we lose more bets the times someone turns a profitable draw when he would have folded or do we lose more by shutting players out when we have a big edge?

this plan sounds good.

I think check-raising is slightly better, because it is not certain button will raise with AK and AQs type hands. If I am confident he will raise these hands, I bet. If he is passive and might check behind with overs, then I would bet.

The real reason for this post is: MoDOH, your avatar is unreal; is there somewhere I can dl a high res version? Or can you at least give me something to searth for it by?

Edit: NM, found one here , just used the name in the .gif and google is my freind

see, I would have ALWAYS bet this flop 100%, but Ulysses actually checkraise/capped this exact hand in the archives. then he get stop and goed, raised, got stop and goed, raised again, and ship it to the masked one.

what is the worst hand you DON'T checkraise here? I could see myself betting TT definitely and JJ almost definitely.

man, you guys are way more aggro than me. i'd just call the 3bet and check/call down (i guess i am a sissy or maybe i just don't know how agressive 10/20 really is, even after 75k hands or so...granted it is 4 handed, but man i can't imagine checkraise capping here)
