Dell Laptop screen, 1440 x 900 vs. 1920 x 1200, which is better & why?

Dell laptops offer 2 different screen options, do both these allow 4 PP tables to fit without any overlap?

17 inch Ultra Sharp WXGA+, 1440 x 900 pixels
17 inch Ultra Sharp WUXGA with TrueLife, 1920 x 1200 pixels

Thanks!

to run 4 PP tables i run at 1600x1200.

First monitor doesn't let you, The second does.
Go for the second if you want to do 4xtabling.

youre going to have overlap in the 1440x900 resolution. ancientpc did a thread in internet about screen resolutions for poker and with 1600x1050 resolution your tables will be overlapped by the size of the party chatbox on both tables. with 900 instead of 1050 it will be twice as bad.

my old computer was 1440x900 (or whatever it is).

The overlap was tolerable...but it was still a factor.

In the center of the screen I had corner of all 4 screens touching and overlapping. Kind of a pain.

1900x1200 is my current laptop screen-res.
Obviously this is good for 4 tabling WITH a little bit left-over.
And I freaking love it.

It's WELL worth it to spend the extra bucks to get AT LEAST 1600x1200. And, imo it's worth it to spend more on top of that to get 1900x1200.

I got the other and I am soooooooooo sad that I did. Damn you frugality!

Seriously. I kick myself nearly every time I launch up the 3rd+ table.

As everyone so far has stated you need the second to four table. If you have the chance though check someone else's out before you buy. I bought a Dell laptop with 1920 x 1200 and whilst you can 4 table without overlap I find it tough on the eyes - don't forget this is a 17" screen and not 21" (a la 2001FP). As an aside I have perfect vision and don't get this problem with laptop on a lesser resolution or using 2001FP.

In fact I now four table exclusively on the desktop / 2001FP and if I have to use the laptop play tourneys or multi-table with overlap with screen set to a lesser resolution.

I dislike the high resolution on a small screen (17") that much I have more or less permanently set the resolution to a lower setting. In fact I actually think I would just buy a different laptop next time. So in my opinion you may love it like Bob or hate it like me so the obvious thing to do is check it out for yourself before you buy. Not looking to start a debate here just offering an alternative perspective before you commit yourself.

Goos Luck
