Best Disney Animated Movie (finals)

(I'm submitting a write-in vote for Robin Hood )

The Jungle Book is a great movie. Very charming, fun, and enjoyable. The Lion King is the masterpiece of Disney animation. The Lion King is Stairway to Heaven/the Godfather II/Ocarina of Time. This shouldn't even be close.

I pretty much missed most of the middle rounds somehow. Although this final is ok. Whoop some ass Lion King.

Okay, honestly? Gilbert Gottfried. Think about that before you vote for Lion King.

It is, of course, right and proper that the Jungle Book wins. It is the bollocks.

I would have a tough time choosing if it were Lion King vs Beauty and the Beast, but this is a no brainer.

I was a Robin Hood man.....

This final is going to be very one-sided - It should be Jungle Book on actual memorablility.....On animation, I assume Lion King will win....

Both had an amazing musical scores.....Whilst J.B was a sing-a-long, Lion King had powerful music...

I voted Jungle Book...

....Robin Hood is much better still than these...

Just watched Lion King again. It's got many major flaws, most of which come from the fact that it's just too short. Every bit of plot point seems so rushed, and you go from young simba to old simba in 5 seconds, as well as weak-ass simba to monster simba in like 5 minutes. Also, Rowan Atkinson is annoying as hell here.

Jeremy Irons is awesome as Scar, though.

It's clearly Lion King, but where is the Fox and the Hound?

bump for Jungle Book lovers.

Lion King lovers can go away.

We need a vote for the funniest Disney Animated movie, I would nominate Emporer's New Groove against Mulan.

Eddie Murphy is hilarious, and David Spade is so funny in cartoon form.... versus being boring in live form.

It's because people will tend to vote on what they got wowed by as a kid, especially if it was in a theater, and almost none of the people here are old enough to have seen Jungle Book as a real little kid in a theater.

Re: Best Disney Animated Movie (finals)

What a disgrace the current vote is. There is no way a "recent" disney movie should even compete with the worst of the worst of classic disney. And, the Jungle Book is probably a solid top 3 or 4 as far as the classics go.

Shame on you, OOT.

Except that unlike Stairway to Heaven, where the end of the song is well constructed, the last quarter of The Lion King is a total hack rush job with little to no thought be hind it, which totally ruined the tremendous movie that the first 3/4's was.

Blarg 10-21-2005 11:36 PM

Re: Best Disney Animated Movie (finals)

And there is no passage in The Lion King that is as much fun as King Louie's song and dance with Mowgli. Not even close.

Bump

Not surprisingly, OOT does it again, going with "conventional wisdom" even when it's wrong (see: "Greatest American Rock Band" winner, Nirvana) and crowning Lion King (or, more accurately, the "Modern" winner) the champ. As Blarg stated, the younguns dominated this poll.

Let's never have a 'best film ever' poll.

I know whatever wins that will just fill me with so much rage my eyes will explode.
