PLO/8 Game tomorrow
 

Alright. I know a lot of you mother effers get tired of playing hold em. It's time for you to learn a new game. Tomorrow on Party I will be hosting a Pot Limit Omaha Eight or Better game. I will be showing and discussing every hand. Our fearless mod, xorbie, will be there too. I'm currently playing the 200PL game and xorbie is around there too. TWP is around there too and might be showing up tomorrow. The game tomorrow will be 25PL so that it's more educational.

If you're willing to lose some money to learn a new game, show up tomorrow. We'll have some fun, talk ish about some SSNL posters, and you all can learn a new game that's WAY easier to take money from fish.

Also, I plan to be drunk, so ask wtfsvi about how well I donate when I'm drunk.

Yup. And you can use 1, 2, 3 or 4 cards from your hand. If you have four diamonds in your hand and there's one on the flop, you have a flush!!!!

BTW, take a look at the plo8 forums. A decent winrate is 18PTBB/100. Yeah, if you're playing good players, it's lower profit. Playing the donkeys at Party PLO/8 is both lower variance and higher profits.

the difference between a decent PLO8 player and an excellent PLO8 player is not that great compared to holdem.

but the difference between a decent PLO8 player and a PLO8 fish is leagues apart from the difference in holdem.

Try getting a set over set and then losing the entire pot in two hands with 55% equity when you move up to the 400. Then PLO8 isn't as much fun. I'm still emotionally scarred. I'll be heading back soon though.

HOWEVER. The other side of the coin is that 8 hands later I limped with AA28ds. Flop was AT7. We get it all in on the flop (same villain) and he shows 7772 with no redraws. That is why this game is so profitable. It's rare (very close to impossible) in holdem to have you opp drawing dead on the flop. I got 1 and a half buyins in on the flop with my opp drawing DEAD.

Is that tomorrow as in tonight or tommorrow as in Friday night - In the UK so I get very mixed up here.

I've played about 200 hands of "8 or better" poker and never could figure out if I had a hand at all. I did buy HLSPFAP and books on Omaha by Bob Ciaffone, Tenner/Krieger, Mike Cappelletti and Ken Warren. It's just hard to find the time to really learn a new game while I still suck at HE.

On Party or on the skin subnetwork? I don't know if private tables overlap but I doubt it. I'll play if its on the skins or if I can get on through Eurobet. I've never played PLO8 but I've played PLO and limit O8.....
