waiting on an angel
fold, call, fold, fold, me $90 with AsKs, fold, fold, regular makes it $250 from the BB, limper folds, i call. regular is on the loose/aggressive side for a regular, which means he's still fairly tight.
flop is Qd-Js-9s. check check. turn is the 5c. check check. river is the 2d. he bets $200 and i fold. |
Re: waiting on an angel
standard.

Re: waiting on an angel
that 200 bet looks like he really really wanted a call, and is this 5-10/10-20
Looks like you got to see your monster draw for free, and what are you doing when the 5 or Q of spades rolls off on the river and he leads into it for ~200? |
Re: waiting on an angel
Why can't he have KK and be genuinely worried that he's crushed?
|
Re: waiting on an angel
Me might... but it's gonna cost us a lot to move him off his hand....
He has QQ here a large percentage of the time. |

Re: waiting on an angel
if i knew what the stack sizes were i might say something like "fold preflop when reraised" or "good checks".
|
Re: waiting on an angel
nh.
Would really suck to be check/raised here, especially on the turn. I'd need to see stack sizes to know if I liked bet/3-bet.... and the guy would have to have a pretty wide range PF here and be capable of overplaying KK or worse in this spot. |
Re: waiting on an angel
Then why are we checking?

Then why are we checking? [/ QUOTE ]the other guy has KK and is going to call! KK=goood. |
Re: waiting on an angel
Aren't we a favorite against KK and other one pair hands?
Shouldn't we be building a pot? All the cards that improve us are scare cards. |
Re: waiting on an angel
~2k both
|
Re: waiting on an angel
the guy is on the tight side and 3 bet out of the blinds.
his range is prob 99-AA with maybe AKs. with that flop, he's not folding, and may possibly move in 1010, certainly 99, JJ, QQ and he folds AK most likely. and gl getting him off KK/AA. i mean, you might, but you arent in amazing shape if they do call with any of those hands. this is a very easy check behind hand i think. |
Re: waiting on an angel
I don't know if this is party, or stars or whatever, but if it's party, how often do you think you win/lose money when calling a 3bet with AK? Unless the player is crazy I think it's a losing play against most "regulars".

Re: waiting on an angel
it's different when you are dictating the action vs following.

Re: waiting on an angel
I'm curious what limits do you play and is it live or online?

Re: waiting on an angel
I agree that it is a check behind, as I said in my earlier posts, I was just curious what our flawlesses logic was. Mine involved villian having a monster hand here (I thought, although I do not play this game) some fairly large percentage of the time.
Although.. I do think that if re-raiser flopped a set here, he has to lead this flop... but many players whom I play against do not play this way. I like your logic, though. What do we do if opponent is known to have a much wider range? |
Re: waiting on an angel
im saying its real unlikely aftetr he checks fourth... on the flop, yes, QQ is certainly possible.
