Suggestion for a new virus

All that is necessary to disable the flop color side bet and blackjack is the removal of two files from the client PC. Lots of two plus twoers have already done this. While this solves the immediate problem of popping up a blackjack table or sidebet panel when you really just wanted to bring a poker table into focus, it doesn't solve the more serious problem. Party is trying to cut out the middle man (us) and take the money directly from our fish. Clearly, what is needed is a virus that will delete the two image files from a PC. How to spread the virus? Simple: Offer pattern mapper, "cheat" progam or something like that, that checks for the two files on startup and deletes them. A little email or chat spam, and the fish will all download it. This could be the first beneficial virus or trojan horse ever created.

It should also create a popup displaying a starting hand chart recommending 60% VPIP.

No! I had a guy last night who was 80%. I don't want him to tighten up on me.

I can imagine that even if some Russian hacker does this you will be the one going down after posting this.

If you are going to go through that trouble, why not make the virus read the hole cards and send them to a central server?

Oh wait, people already do this.

I'm not saying it is rigged, just that it could be. I'm sure that software that advertises you can see hole cards could figure this out very easily.

You send out mass e-mails with an attachment "Win big at Party Poker with these secrets" Have some random tips with a "virus" installed that reads the hole cards from hand histories or using OCR. Then send them away to the server.

Then you sell the hole card software, people that buy the hole card software also unknowingly are getting their hole cards sent away. The "virus" spreads.

I'm convinced that one of the reasons sites are banning programs like PokerEdge is precisely this concern. If PokerTracker or a HUD suddenly went rogue and started stealing hole cards (and passwords!) thousands of firewalls would sound the alarm and they would be caught.

But if PokerEdge or similar service started doing this no one would notice for a long time because internet traffic is part-and-parcel of how the service works. A player who has access to three opponents' hole cards has an enormous edge over *everyone* at the table. Users of programs like this are potentially endangering the security of the site and everyone playing there.

I would not be surprised if this violated the T&C of Party is some way. Call it a hunch.
