Do you ever take your foot off the pedal?

villain isn't too horrible, somewhat passive before the flop, but i saw him over play 2 flushes with paired boards where he lost big pots.

Do you ever let up on this hand?

Re: Do you ever take your foot off the pedal?

Since he likes to overplay, I wouldn't give it a second thought. A8s, KK-AA, 77, all possible.

Re: Do you ever take your foot off the pedal?

Iīm not found of slowplaying. Not even HU and with a hand this strong.
I would raise this flop and if raised I smoothcall and pop the turn also. Against some I cap the flop also. The reason is that i would raise this flop with many hands and you arenīt directly worried that villain will fold his hand are you? In fact he will probably raise you here...

Other than the flop I would have played it the same... If he had QQ then so be it...

Re: Do you ever take your foot off the pedal?

i would only call the river check raise after the turn action. but given your description, i may be losing money.

Re: Do you ever take your foot off the pedal?

Raise the flop and keep throwing raises in there until party poker doesn't allow it anymore.

Edit: If it's capped all the way after raising the flop, then just call the river check-raise. Anything more would be overplaying.

Drontier 09-30-2005 06:41 PM

Re: Do you ever take your foot off the pedal?

by overplaying do you mean capping turn and river with a 6 high flush? or do u mean capping turn with 2 bets on the river with a Q high flush? If its the first, I cap this on both streets. If its the latter, the only hand he has that makes sense is QQ. Once u get c/r on river PLZ shutdown. Not even AA goes this far, and hes passive pf so Im guessing AA KK AK QQ. obviously not AK here huh? KK and AA never go this far, so QQ it is.

Just call the river checkraise? Because he made a straight flush?

Ok, well yeah definitly raise the flop. And not to beat it to death, but call the river c/r. I'm serious, who here thinks a flush is even in the realm of possibility?

sorry.

i would say when he check-raises the river he has QQ 50% of the time at LEAST. this means you can ONLY CALL HIS CHECK-RAISE

Re: Do you ever take your foot off the pedal?

Slow down tiger.

Can he read hands at all?

If he's passive before the flop, he's not holding AcQc, right?

If he maybe caps with AKs does he play AcKc like this?

If not- what does he cap with that he plays like that on the turn?

If your description is on point, QQ is really damn likely once he c/rs the river and I think you maybe could make a case for calling down after he 3-bets the turn (but that hinges on if you think he'd play AA or KK like this on the turn).

Re: Do you ever take your foot off the pedal?

OK. I just played the whole movie back in my head considering the read. When I get to part about the river checkraise, my 3rd bet feels like a spew. So, I'm inclined to agree that just calling on the river is much better. If OP's read is accurate, it's not even close.

mex78753 09-30-2005 07:33 PM

Re: Do you ever take your foot off the pedal?

personally I dont think a call on the river is as sure a thing as some seem to suggest against a 3/6 limit player. Especially one that has been seen overplaying his hands.

But, I do agree flat calling the river is marginally better.

You're on. If Im wrong I will transfer u money on Stars (easiest for me). Being serious here.

You really dont think he has QQ or 88 here? The only way I see AQ of clubs, AA or KK here is if he is really bad. But if u accept let me know.

Does he cap 88 HU. If he does, this is hilarious.

B Dids 09-30-2005 10:18 PM

Re: Do you ever take your foot off the pedal?

It should be very clear that everbody (like me) saying QQ is basing this on the OP's read. If his read blows and he caps AcQc or 88 preflop, it's his fault, not ours.

Re: Do you ever take your foot off the pedal?

haha, Im simply going off the reads of partypoker 3-6 players. You must cap this river!

Re: Do you ever take your foot off the pedal?

You are not very good at reading party 3/6 players then.

As I have stated earlier, I see into their souls, so I may have an edge here.

Seriously, even if people play bad, you can't just ignore basic hand reading.

There's only one this this advice feels like...

THere are only 3 hands that beat him. And perhaps 88? 4 hands?
