Why is Barry Greenstien's son's last name Joe Sebok. Shouldn't it be Joe Greenstien? Did he change his name just at the poker table so he wouldn't have to deal with the legacy of his dad?

As you can see from the broadcast, Barry's son really really really really hates Barry, so he changed his name so no one would know he is Barry Greenstein's son, and sues anyone who says he is.

So you will probably be sued soon.

Apparently Barry adopted his first wife's three kids. He really loved these kids, I guess, and when they divorced he went so far as to get a job at Symantec to help with the custody fight. I think he won custody. Anyway, Joe Sebok's name comes from Barry's first wife's husband.

And that's a long way of changing his name to disassociate from his dad! LOL no offense but you must have led a sheltered life? Good for you!

here's a good reference for starting to know the relationship better - and Joe is a great writer also. He's presenting his column as one might start out learning poker. Well, not exactly, he's got a pretty good coach...

Actually, though... sorry... I thought there was a reference to why he is nick'd Bear. I know I read it somewhere but I can't seem to find it! Perhaps one of the other Sebok articles has something?
