Don't think you're gonna get my sympathy.

If that's the worst beat you've taken, you've done very well so far.

Just my worst today, is this a joke?? This guy calls all of my raises with a freaking 8 HIGH Pre-flop, and then with a GUTSHOT straight draw? Did I play it correctly?

Re: Please console me after this loss...

There's a lot worse beats all over the place. I see worse beats every time I play. Just had one caller of my pre-flop raise with KK call me all the way to the river HEADS-UP and win with pocket cards of 23o. He hit his 2 on the flop and his 3 on the river. Learn the term "sklansky bucks" and spend them wisely!

QQ with that many people seeing the flop is going to win more than your "fair share," but will still lose a MAJORITY of the time if all hands were to stay to showdown.

By the time that second T hits the turn, you've gotta be thinking that someone stuck around with "top pair" on the flop and is now gonna beat you. Guess that didn't happen, but a T isn't an unlikely holding here. As it turns out, you lost to a straight instead.

For "did I play correctly" posts, go to the "MICRO LIMITS" forum. You'll probably get blasted because bad-beat threads are frowned upon.

IMHO, you played it fine. At what point would you consider playing it differently? You've gotta call that river raise unless you absolutely stone-cold-know you're beaten.

You got value out of this hand -- you saw a player who plays poorly and calls a lot of draws. You should want to play with him and others like him in the future. Play your "A" game and don't play with a vendetta.

Bad beats are part of the game. All hands, even AA have to lose at some point. Accept that or find a new hobby.

worst post ever. #1 - wrong forum. #2 - bad beat. #3 - a bad beat post at a .5/1 game.

That is really not unusual at all. Thankfully so.

Re: Please console me after this loss...

EDIT: relaized it was limit but he was still correct to call.
look up pot odds, $6.5 in the pot on the flop and u raise it to $1? When its his turn it costs him another $.50 to call for a pot of $11, immeadiate pot odds of 22 to 1. Hes got 4 outs for a straight and additional 6 outs for a set or boat, he had correct odds to call you on the flop. So no, he played it right. Not very consoling ...oh well...

Yes he should have so totally hacked into the software so he could make a larger than maximum bet in a limit hold em game. Great point.

Oh, to the OP: don't get any ideas and start posting crap like this in ML.

Re: Please console me after this loss...

Yes you played it correctly, your biggest mistake was posting this crybaby bad beat post. Now let's examine your "bad beat".

Preflop the guy played rags and coldcalled your raise. However, that was the only mistake he made, albeit a big one. But after that, and this is as basic as poker knowledge gets, he was getting correct odds to chase a gutshot all the way, so your bitching about that is wrong. Let's review.

Preflop there was 9 dollars in the pot.

On the flop after your raise it was 1 dollar to the eventual winner in a 10.50 pot. Thus, since you try to sound like you always play perfectly in your post, you can see that he was getting precisely 10.5 to 1 immediate odds (IE the point where a gutshot is profitable (On second thought with the rake it was 10-1, however the initial flop bettor will def call here so his implied odds were AT THE VERY LEAST 10.5 to 1). I won't even get into how through the roof his implied odds were considering how many .5-1 players will cold call a raise on the flop.

On the turn there are 14 bucks in the pot (possibly thirteen due to the rake) After your bet it's 14-15 to one pot odds to him. He correctly called and hit his gutshot on the river.

So, how bad is your beat after all?? Sure, your opponent made one ridiculously bad call preflop but he wasn't the only one. If you fold gutshots in pots that are 9 big bets preflop you'll lose PILES of cash. Additionally, if you keep making bad beat posts that really are bad beats you'll get flamed, let alone ones where your opponents postflop decisions were all correct.

Good luck, read SSHE,

Matt

you are a [censored] tool. I hate reading stuff like this after a bad session. If you think that is bad you are in for it if you continue to play, just wait till you are running bad, ive taken 3 beats as bad or worse than that in an hour before, so STFU NOOB!

ended up busting the guy for about $60 20 minutes later.... sorry if i shouldn't of posted this here but if you are so ticked off by the post the best way to make that evident would be to ignore it, not bumping it to the top every 5 minutes with a reply. kthx.

Re: Please console me after this loss...

We'd rather insult you. And please explain how you took a single player for 60 bucks in 20 minutes playing .5-1 limit hold 'em. That statement just proves you're lying in an attempt to puff out your chest and sound like a good poker player.

So do you want this guy to fold rather than call pre-flop, flop, and turn?

Suck it up and move on...yesterday I got AA 3 times in 10 hands and every one of them suffered a more ridiculous beat than this. But I took good money off the table because eventually bad play catches up with people.

Bad beats happen every other hand at .5/1.

I would've fully expected that to happen and folded preflop.

This is why OP needs to move up to higher limits as soon as possible so this never happens. Like 10/20 at least.
