Pour the milk the night before, and let them soak overnight.

Grape nuts rock. Though it feels like I'm eating glass sometimes. My wife mixes them in with yogurt. Actually looks tasty but since I'm not a milk lover I don't like yogurt much.

If you really believed that you'd have spelled it correctly, but it doesn't matter anyways because you're wrong. The correct answer is Cracklin' Oat Bran.

What the hell is a grapenut when it's at home? I'm pretty sure we don't get them here in the good old UK. Is it a breakfast cereal, or an actual nut called a grapenut?

They are actually the super-dried skins of grapes (whats left over after they squeeze out all the juice for winemaking).

Yeah. Sometimes I read a post title and respond without reading what's inside of it. That would be this post for sure.

Re: Grapenuts.

Is that actually good or is it a joke?

The problem with Grapenuts is that they get soggy really quickly, why would I want to bypass the step of eating Grapenuts that is actually somewhat decent?

If I let the Grapenuts soak overnight I may as well eat a soggy loaf of bread.

Grapenuts, to my gag reflex, are like crushed, moldy croutons.

For nutritional value, you just can't beat Total Raisin Bran.
For fun & flavor, yes, I think Fruity Pebbles reigns supreme.

Sure we get them, I used to eat them all the time as a kid. As others have said, they should soak in the milk for a short while to take the teeth shattering edge off, and quite obviously need to be covered in huge amounts of sugar.

gravel is definitely a regular breakfast meal. its fast, just go out and scoop some up, a little milk. try it with raspberries.

in all seriousness though, grapenuts are really good.

Grapenuts rule as long as you remember to wash the bowl insantly after eating them.

Chaostracize 09-23-2005 01:33 PM

Re: Grapenuts.

If that is the only condition under which they rule you are mistaken. I washed the bowl afterwards, and it did not change my mind on how awful I think Grapenuts are.

They sank like a rock in my stomach and I steal feel them grinding and carving up my insides... bleeehhh...

InchoateHand 09-23-2005 05:50 PM

Re: Grapenuts.

They are awesome.

Heat them with some hot water in the microwave, let them absorb it, add milk and honey. MMMmmm.

Or just east them cold. I like fiber.

Re: Grapenuts.

Just cause they're there doesn't mean you HAVE to eat them. Jeeze, go get a hot dog from Costco or something.

You have to try it with strawberries if you haven't. I think they come with banana too.
