Typing speed competition

In reply to the post about typing without using backspaces, I've come up with the idea to start an OOT typing speed competition. The rules:

1. The test must be taken at www.typingtest.com, using the "Fishing in Finland" test for 1 minute. The test is to measure WPM, not CPM.
2. You are allowed one try only.
3. Screenshots of your results are required.
4. The winner will be determined by Net speed, not Gross speed.

My entry: Here

Now go you bastards!

Ouch. I already got pwned. I probably shouldn't have started this thread on a board where people play 23094802934 tables of online poker at once.

Anyways, let's see more entries, bitches.

My net speed was 103. My fingers felt cold and clampy, by my standards, it was a very poor performance. In a company of thousands of relay operators I held the typing record on the hiring test.

This thread is really useless without screenshots.

Push the print screen button (looks like "prt Scr" on my keyboard). Open paint, select edit, then paste. Save the file to your desktop. Open your web browser and search for "free image hosting". Find a site, like imageshack, that will host your bmp. Post the pic.

gross: 66
errors: 9
net speed: 57

in my defense, i got distracted by the semi-colon in the first line and forgot to capitalize some words (my word processor is set up to do that automatically at the beginning of a sentence and obvious proper nouns like finland)

How do you do that?

Re: Typing speed competition

In high school, I ended up in some lame keyboarding class where I typed faster than the teacher and she wanted me to join some gayrod typing team and go to competitions and [censored]. I said [censored] NO! I tested at 122wpm in the class and the goal for the class was to be able to type 40wpm. The stupid bitch gave me a B because I didn't improve enough, having come into the class typing 90wpm+. I think she was just jealous that I could type faster than her. She sucks. Now I suck. I doubt I'd get over 60 or 70 wpm now.

One other thing that was kind of fun was they used all the old keyboards for this class. For all the youngins here, the way a keyboard bolds a letter is to strike it twice. I set the bold lock on and when we'd have a time test, I'd type my 100wpm+, which would be too fast for the keyboard to keep up with when it was double-striking and it would keep going for like 20 seconds after the minute test was up. You had to do everything you could in that class to keep entertained. Luckily, there were a couple fun/hot chicks sitting next to me, so that kept me entertained most of the time.

And nothing pulls wool like being a very fast typist.

You're damned right. It pays to be well-rounded.

Re: Typing speed competition

I dunno really, type words not letters I guess. I saw that three guys had beat me on the top 100 and I managed to pull this off; I was going at 160+ actually which is way more than I've ever done until I screwed up like 3 words in a row right at the end.

http://img390.imageshack.us/img390/2...ing58kc.th.png

But that other guy is still 8 ahead of me...
