I've got MSU +6.5, thought I was safe, but ND looks to be gaining momentum.

Looking like it may go to OT... comeon MSU field goal, though it doesn't sound like their kicker is that great.

Edit: Comeon ND field goal!

Not just because ND lost, but OT in College football is so lame.

#21 missed several key balls that could've easily been caught down the stretch. ND totally should've won this game in regulation.

Clark- Maybe that's why the voters didn't have Notre Dame ahead of Ohio State.

Are you retarded? Since when are the polls supposed to *predict* what teams will do? If that's the case, I'd be much more comfortable with letting the bookies rank teams.

The contention is that rankings are supposed to rank the teams from best to worst using all available data, the games being just supplemental data and not the end-all-be-all.

I think it's a valid stance to take.

I think it's ridiculous and basically indefensible. Prior to Saturday, there was no valid reason to rank OSU ahead of ND. Now there is. But the difference is that prior to Saturday, it wasn't close and now it is. The polls basically should reflect the achievements and abilities of the teams as if the season ended on the day of the vote, not based on what is prognosticated.
