Flop two pair and everyone else goes nuts

I didn't have any PT stats on anyone here at this table yet. All I can say is that already in this session I'd raised from the button after four limpers w/ KQs as well and it came back to me capped (two LRRs). The players didn't seem like complete donks on all streets but they were capable of playing aggressively and ridiculous as just mentioned.

what did they have when it came back capped previously ?

If the guys that LRR with junk are the ones doing the raising here, I think I cap it and reevaluate on the turn.

I only saw one of their hands, but it was A7s, he flopped a 7, and rivered another.

Crazy. I don't think I can fold here. It's just too likely that you're up against overplayed top pairs, flush draws, lesser 2 pairs and slow-played AA's.

I recommend calling here and drawing the Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] on the turn.

Capping would be OK too, but I don't think you'll make anyone fold, and I'm more curious to see which of the players behind me is going to cap.

Re: Flop two pair and everyone else goes nuts

There's a VERY good chance someone hit this with something like TJ. Account for the fact that your other face cards to fill up are likely gone, and even if they aren't you've got 4 outs if someone flopped the straight.

That said, I don't think I'm good enough to lay this hand down without seeing the turn. Maybe I'm a chip-spewer sometimes. If you're going to play, go ahead and cap it, since its probably coming around there anyways. Maybe (BIG maybe) you'll even get SB out when he's facing 3 cold...but I doubt it.

Cap, reevaluate on turn, then make many notes at SD

cfjr2 09-12-2005 05:47 PM

Re: Flop two pair and everyone else goes nuts

in that case they probably have
A- flush draw (likely Axs)
B- flopped str8 or OESD (or gutshot if he's that bad here)
C- lower flush draw or 1/2 pair (maybe set of 9's?)

You most likely have the best hand - may as well cap it and see the turn and hope the scare cards don't come. You have 4 draws to a boat and you may not see the flush or str8 (if it's a draw) get completed.

Turn play

OK, now for the turn... I capped PF, and the turn brought some more reasonably strange action....

Re: Turn play

hero bets - they all missed the draws

If they CR they call 1 back to you. 2 or more back to you I think I fold.

Re: Turn play

You're not gonna let that flush draw have a free card, are you?

Definitely bet. And probably call a check-raise.

Re: Turn play

hmm weird action. i would bet for value here. if you get raised call it down. im assuming these guys would have reraised preflop with kk,qq

teajay 09-13-2005 07:42 AM

Re: River play

OK, I did bet the turn. Of course to get CR'd. I had to call that, but the part I'm having the most difficulty is the river. I am so sure of being behind, having the turn check raiser bet into me. The check raiser was an aggressive player, but it just seemed impossible to be ahead. But the pot is laying me near 20:1 and I'm closing the action, I'd have to be crazy to fold here wouldn't I?

You're not seriously thinking of folding a 20BB pot heads up for one bet on the river are you?

DoomSlice 09-13-2005 07:51 AM

Re: River play

Yes you'd have to be crazy to fold.

Re: River play

Call, Easy call aswell but thats not to say i think im going to win...

I play it the same, Really strange play and it looks like he hit a straight off the flop!

The check/raise is him building the pot, bet hes praying no one hits a flush!

Re: River play

Nope. And I needed to be sure I wasn't crazy. But the reason I posted this entire hand in this way was because it reminded me of an article read in card player. I forget the author, ubt he had a friend come to him and say he was always losing at showdown, and it turned out this was just a bunch of errors on earlier streets being comppounded, and that's why he was at showdown in the first place.

So of course, I'm not really asking if I should fold closing the action getting 20:1 without overcalling, but rather should I still even have been in the hand to this point.

You had odds the entire way to your full house. And at these limits you could very well have the best hand. If you were playing 30/60, well that's a different story. But this is the micro's dude.

Re: River play

AA and AK go nuts on this board, too. 2pair wins (by far) often enough to justify the call (as you said).

cfjr2 09-13-2005 09:38 AM

Re: River play

co folds turn - AQ or Qx Kx
UTG calls only - AA or AK and/or flush draw?
SB - TJ (called 3 cold PF?) possibly both [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]
- also possible A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]Ax or A [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]K [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]
worth a call
