it is a good album... Don't think I'd call it their best though... Partial to Echoes myself.

how's that apple?

As for the final cut, I think it is a beautifully put together album, not unlike the Wall in that every song flows naturally into the next and almost like chronologically telling a story. They are incedible artists.

I don't think compilation albums should be counted in best album discussions

I have every Pink Floyd album known to man ( I think ) and I have to agree Animals is incredible. But The Final Cut has the almost singular quality ( besides the Wall) that the whole is greater than the sum of the parts.

Oh jeez, I do that. I'm thinking Meddle on which the final song is Echoes. I am known to call The Final Cut, Post War Dream.

Re: Pink Floyd Rules

Much like The Wall, The Final Cut is really a Roger Waters solo album disguised as a Pink Floyd album. Not sayin' both aren't great, and I'm not sayin' the other members didn't contribute. However, they really cannot compare to Dark Side of The Moon, Wish You Were Here or Animals.

Wish You Were Here is obviously the correct answer, anything else is just plain wrong. Honorable mention to Animals though.

I'd be surprised if this was on anyone's list of top ten Pink Floyd albums, let alone best albums of all time. I guess it's better than Ummagumma.

I am partial to Animals myself. Although, Saucerful of Secrets is pretty high on my list. Final Cut, close to the bottom.
