That's quite the difference between 10th and 11th place.

10th place= Entry worth $2,000
11th place= Pokerroom beanie

Are they embroidered beanies?

I agree, hence my post.

I'd rather have a kick in the head than 11th.

But at least if you earn enough points for 11th, chances are you've done quite well at the S&G's and thus won a good bit of money.

Silver lining, silver lining.

Anybody actually gonna give this a go? I'm thinking about it...although I'm wondering how much you should play, or if it's worth it. I'm guessing 16-18 hours a day of straight Sit n going. *puke*

I saw this promo in my email box today. I'm not a tourney player, but I think you'll basically have to 4-table 24/7 to make the top 10. I don't think the hardest of the hardcore 2+2 carpal tunnel is capable of this.

Has anyone ever tried "teaming" with other players to win one of these promos? Say, two guys pulling 12 hour shifts under the same username, or maybe 3 guys playing 8 hour shifts, etc? I know the payout maybe isn't worth it, unless you've got a nasty tourney player on your team whom you think could win that final table of burnt out multitablers.

Just an idea I was curious about.

This was talked about when Party did the free millions cruise promo and it was believed that this was being done.

The difference is even larger than that because it's really:

10th place= Entry worth $2,000 and a Pokerroom beanie
11th place= Pokerroom beanie

So, you've pretty much gotta put together a team if you want to win this promo. I believe it. I've seen some of the other daily points promos, etc, and I imagine it's the same deal. The amount of points some of these accounts can put up are just unreal.

That said, this promo is even more lame than the paradise million dollar freeroll.

I wonder if I can buy one of those beanies at the pokerroom store.

Wonder if they will increase the fee to $10+2 for this?

Re: PokerRoom Sit N Go Promotion

I did this promotion. I 4-tabled for about 59 hours to place about 4th. At my rate 55 hours would have been needed to make it into the top 10, but I planned to play even more than I did, and eased off toward the end. I prepared by getting only 5 hours of sleep in the preceding 48 hours, not because this was a good preparation, but because I was busy. My main breaks were 2 hours of sleep on the first day and 6 hours of sleep on the second day.

I felt awful. I made a lot less money than I would have playing my normal NL 100-400, and sacrificed playing on Friday evening. On the other hand, I cleared the last $200 reload bonus and even got an extra $35 for placing in the top 50 poker point earners on two days, and I did this with no monetary stress and without supporting PokerRoom's new ring game rake structure.

Playing as a team would be cheating. If you did it, I hope PokerRoom disqualifies you and freezes your account. I hope they don't even give you the @$#% beanie. I am asking PokerRoom to investigate all accounts that placed well.

So you succeeded, and are still worried about others who teamed-up/cheated?
Congrats on your accomplishment

Congrats. Good luck in the freeroll, let us know how it goes

I can appreciate your anger at the cheaters after going through what I would classify poker hell. 59 hours of SNG's.. yikes
