Wrong player declared the winner?
Man, I am upset. I wonder if this has happened to anyone else. I had an A high club flush and was heads up. I knew I had the nut flush. The pot was $66.00. At showdown, the other player won with an A high flush. No way, since there were four clubs on the table. This was at pacific poker. I don't usually play there, but have an account there. I have written tech support, but was wondering if this is common. It seriously ruined my evening.

Re: Wrong player declared the winner?
your post msakes no sense.
you both had the ace of clubs? what does 4 clubs on the board have anything to do with it and why does that make it not possible to have a better flush? I'm not kidding. I can't figure out what you are saying at all. |
Re: Wrong player declared the winner?
I had the A of clubs. I am upset because I didn't win the pot. The software said the other player was the winner, but no way we both could have had the A of clubs. I was the winner and lost out on $66.

Re: Wrong player declared the winner?
Maybe you had the ace of spades and misread your hand?
|
Re: Wrong player declared the winner?
Just as a guess, was the ace of clubs on the board? If it was in your hand, then you obviously have the nuts.
If the situation was with the board having 4 clubs including the ace, your opponent wins as long as they have a higher club in the hole than you do. |

Re: Wrong player declared the winner?
Pacific Poker has an option where you can look at your recent hand histories. Look it up and find out where you made your mistake.

Re: Wrong player declared the winner?
with 4 to a flush on the board maybe there is also a possibility of the other guy hitting a straight flush to beat you?

Re: Wrong player declared the winner?
I admit that I may be wrong. I will try again to find the hand replay, but I couldn't find it before. I am convinced I had the A of clubs and the other guy won with a flush A high. The A was in my hand, but I will admit I had a senior moment if I can see the replay. That would be a hell of a misread.

Re: Wrong player declared the winner?
I'm guessing MicroBob is correct. He had a straight-flush...quite possible with four on the board.

Re: Wrong player declared the winner?
i think you need to leave the table to access the hand-replayer.
i think it only keeps your last 20 hands...so if you've been playing all this time then it may already be gone (unless it's changed...which is possible) |
Re: Wrong player declared the winner?
Wait just a second. I read somewhere that the winner's hand is always revealed. Why is he guessing what the other guy had?

Re: Wrong player declared the winner?
oh yeah.
I think a couple years ago I could have SWORN that Pacific gave the pot to my opponent when I should have gotten it. By the time I figured out how to use the hand-replayer though it was gone so I couldn't see what happened. GrannyMae confirmed that it was perhaps possible. Of course, I also conceded that it was probably just my own error. The showdowns and pot-shoves happen fairly quickly on that site so it's kind of hard to see what's going on. On Pacific I don't think it's 100% impossible for this to have happened. but I do think it's more likely that the player had the Ace of Spades and King of Clubs but somehow got them mixed-up in his head. |
Re: Wrong player declared the winner?
I was so amazed that the chips went to the other player, then the hand was gone. All I had was the dealer chat. It happened too fast. If they only hold the last 20 hands in replay, it is too late. Maybe I made a mistake, maybe not. At least it didn't break me.

were u playing omaha??

Re: Wrong player declared the winner?
No, hold 'em

Re: Wrong player declared the winner?
Boy, do I feel like a dummy. I found the replay and the A was on the table. My opponent had a higher club kicker. I would have probably played it the same in any case. THanks for the feedback, all.

DOn't sweat it, it happens to the best of us. Whenever I mis-read a hand I figure its time to stop playing for a while.

Re: Wrong player declared the winner?
The card faces on Pacific are horrible. The spades and clubs look so much alike, particularly if your screen is at 1600x1200. Of course, I don't know why I should expect the card faces to be any better than the rest of the software. The four-color cards available at Chip Litre's Poker Mods are an enormous improvement for Pacific.
