Dynasty Leagues
 

Who here is in a dynasty league? I'm referring to ones where you keep nearly your entire roster every year, and the drafts are essentially all rookies. How much do you like it compared to regular leagues? What do you run it through?

have one on yahoo and love it. ten teamer. entire roster kept.

I'm in a league that's been running for about 15-20 years (all run by hand). I came in about 7 years ago. It's a blast if you get into it. You really grow an odd attachment to players you drafted, and you end up having to know a lot more about the guys on the bench than regular redraft FFers do because the waiver wire is so thin. I have my dynasty draft tomorrow actually.

Give it a try, it's a blast.

Dynasty leagues are 100x better than standard leagues and 1x10^10x better than standard keeper leagues.

Yes, but some I met through the league. However, everyone personally knew at least one other person before they entered the league.

Im in a dynasty baseball league and love it. Would love to do a 2+2 football one.

I would enthusiastically be in. I just can't seem to find enough fans here in the great white north that are nutso enough to go for a dynasty league.

I'd prefer to do it for pride than cash.

I also think it is better if we do the draft ourselves, say, on the forum, and transfer it to Yahoo or whatnot.

true, but those in my experience are substantially harder to run, keep everyone for 5 hours and whatnot

I am up for that given that everyone probably will not be taking retarded amounts of time, but would prefer to do the initial live on yahoo then next years rookie drafts offline

4 years running on mine, I dunno on others...all pay leagues I've tried break because of disinterest...maybe it's just a format thing

It's a bit late in the season for a serious league. Maybe I'll get Clarkmeister to come along in a big dynasty league next year. But, I think he's in a few already.

how is it late? me and bugstud are working out all the plans now. theres still 2 weeks to draft, should be fine.

The first year, the league will operate as a one-shot deal, because there's no reason to invest $100 not knowing if the league will exist for the year after.

So, pride > $.

plan is for a $100 entry league, if that doesn't work $50 should be fine. payouts would be $600/300/200 with 100 going to the guy with most regular season points.

plan would be 18 man rosters, I'm not 100% certain on whether the standard yahoo positions or swiitching some out for flex would be best.

for me, the money isnt really there for me to win it, its there to make the league more serious and competitive, and thus more fun.

I would like to be in this league, and it looks like there is room for 1 more. however, I can't do the draft over the Labor Day weekend. I could, however, do anytime this week.
