Tough, but I'm gonna go with "What a Wonderful World", as performed by Louie Armstrong. My opinion will change in about an hour.

Dude, this isn't even close to the greatest Sabbath song ever written, let alone the greatest song period. Sabbath had so many better tunes.

Re: Greatest song ever written?

With out a doubt greatest song ever written... Bad Religion "Do what you want"

Hey do what you want, but don't do it around me.
Idleness and dissipation breed apathy.
I sit on my ass all goddamn day,
A misanthropic anthropoid with nothing to
Say what you must, do all you can,
Break all the fuxxing rules and
Go to Hell with Superman and
Die like a champion, yeah hey!
Hey I don't know if the billions will survive,
But I'll believe in God when 1 and 1 are 5.
My moniker is man and I'm rotten to the core.
I'll tear down the building just to pass through the door.
So do what you must, do all you can,
Break all the fuxxing rules and
Go to Hell with Superman and
Die like a champion, yeah hey!

Most famously a John Lee Hooker tune, he learned it from his stepfather Tony Hollins, who recorded it in 1941.

Best answer so far, but your opinion cannot be correct unless you say something clever like "and it's not close" or "end of thread" afterwards.

Really I didn't know that. Still love their version.

LA woman has to be the best Doors album followed by Morrison Hotel.
