\"Official\" Live at the Bike thread (8/18)

Tonight brings another exciting episode of L@TB, most likely a return to 5/10 NL, although last night's 30/60 limit game was pretty good, helped with the addition of Kenna James to an already loose table. For those that care to watch and don't know how, head over to www.thebike.com and click on Live at the Bike.

Re: \"Official\" Live at the Bike thread (8/18)

I estimate that as many as a dozen people worldwide may tune in to this web cast. Doesn't L@TB know it's impolite to keep that many people waiting?

Re: \"Official\" Live at the Bike thread (8/18)

I'd go as high as 3 dozen. But the show has started, and tonight it's 5/5 NL 300 min/500max

I am curious as to how many people tune in, on average. Has to be somewhat easy to get the stats for the site. Anyone ever heard any numbers???

I remember Bart saying "thousands" on the air, and this was before the Poker Channel got involved. It wouldn't surprise me that thousands aren't listening in. I believe it - or more.

Re: \"Official\" Live at the Bike thread (8/18)

I've heard them mention upwards of 25,000, although I'd personally guess it's about 10-15k is the average. They haven't mentioned the Poker Channel in a while, I know they were recording shows as a demo for them, but don't know if they're a permanent fixture of the program or not.

2-5 wins again! 2 moves with 2-5: all-in or fold.

Re: \"Official\" Live at the Bike thread (8/18)

I've heard Mike Sexton say that Q7 is called the "computer" hand because that was thought to be the average hand a player can get. Phan still is still Card Player POY leader by almost 900 points over Michael Gracz.

Seat 9 John's girlfriend must LOVE watching live poker. Smiling that much can't be good for you.

I had an ex that smiled almost that much watching me play cards. However, I'm suspicious that the free booze had a lot to do with her happiness sitting behind me all those hours!!!

Last year, Negreanu got a 10k buyin for winning Card Player POY but I think that was the first year they did that.

That in-table mike has to go (or at least get moved). Chips and cards create a lot of noise hitting it.

They added that mic yesterday, and you can hear all the rustling that's created. It makes for a lot of distracting noise.

Announcers bankrolls

With the mention of Ivey and Greenstein and 10k, it got me thinking. What levels of game are the announcers comfortable playing and at what level does it make you think twice about sitting at the table. More curiousity then anything else.

It's called "playing the overs" and at most places it is illegal.
