How much is the WSOP ME Championship worth over the course of a year?

After winning 7.5 million, how much is the WSOP ME championship worth over the course of a year?

How much sponsorship money, book deals, speaking engagements, etc can this year's winner expect to take in?

This is incorrect. Last year's total was, in fact, 3.50 American. With an increase in poker commercials and the willingness of some players to spend long periods of times in frigerators, the actual total for this year is expected to be closer to 3.75 American.

Joe should be able to pick up at least half a million in the upcoming year in endorsement deals and other such stuff. He might pick up more like 1 million. If he picks up more than that, then he did some really good dealmaking, IMO.

Thank you, Greg.

Your answer settles a bet between myself and a friend of mine over how much the title was worth in the following year.

I'm lazy, and slow even when I work hard. ;-)

I keep trying to make time for it, and thought I would get a lot done this month and next. Then, we went and bought a house in Raleigh, NC, and I'm busy with all the hassles of moving. sigh.

I'm talking the total value of the endorsements and such you get. Thus, if PokerStars buys me into a tournament for 10K, I count that as 10K of "money I got afterwards for winnign the WSOP".

Greg,

Any hints on what your book will be about? Just poker tips or "a year in the life of a poker champion?"

Or a combination of both?

Thanks,

DD

Can't wait to read it.

Unless things have changed, I believe it's a tournament essay book based on his past 2+2 posts.
