A perfect internet poker site? ( spam free)

I am currently doing research on what makes a poker site
good. I would love to hear feedback from you guys on
what makes some sites better than others ( no names please).
If you could build a site what features would you have to make
it more enjoyable and profitable for the players? What
features do you like and dislike about the current sites
available now.
Thanks for any input that you guys can offer, i look forward
to reading the results.
Thanks again, Jay.

How about in Everquest you can type in /pizza and it takes you to Pizza Hut's online ordering site. Why can't we have that for poker?

NO BET POT BUTTON IN NL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I also like NL sliders that one clicks kicks it up in 1 bb increments, not up to 4 then all of a sudden 8 or whatever.

if party had any kind of clickable slider, it would be an improvement.

I bet you really suck at Poker. A poker site won't survive with high rake. It makes the fish go broke quicker and the educated players won't play there b/c the site takes too much of their edge. The greatest number of raked hands played per day is what a poker site wants. The standard rake makes them more than enough money (Party is a multi billion dollar publicly traded company) and keeps the players around because they can't find a better deal.

Party's rake is pretty much industry standard.

Re: A perfect internet poker site? ( spam free)

As far as graphics go I use the "turn off characters" at party poker. With the characters off I think it has the best graphics. Logical, easy to read, no fluff or bs to get in the way. I think the background at pokerstars is just plain ugly. If I'm gonna spend hours playing online I want an elegant screen to look at.

Low rake or buy in. I play sngs. 10%, imho, is too high.
Should be half that. I think 1 dollar on a 10 dollar sng is silly. 50 cents seems more reasonable.

The sounds need to be good too. I think PP has pretty good sounds. Not annoying.

I think PokerChamps has a great table graphic. It's a little too small though when you run at high rez.

One thing PP does that I don't see on other sites is the ability to only look at games that are currently registering players. I HATE having to scroll through a list to find an open game.

Get the best, most advanced random number generator.

Pokerstars chat is a nightmare. party poker does chat decently.

The ability to jump into a game any time. This takes users. that means marketing. I think pokerchamps could be a great site. not enough people there and a little under funded.

I like full tilt EXCEPT for the fricken graphics. Ridiculous. I hate the whole cartoon vibe. Whoever came up with that needs to go back to design school.

IGN at PP is my favorite way to deposit funds. Fast and Easy. I hate having to load neteller or firepay and then transfer funds to the pokersite.

Fast cash outs. I want to be able to cash out as quickly and easily as I can deposit.

Re: A perfect internet poker site? ( spam free)

-High game traffic, site is worthless without adequate number of players

-Good game selection, basically every site but Party skins, ie Why no 2/4, 20/40, 30/60 6 max limit?

-Decent looking graphics or the ability to easily change backgrounds

-Custom avatars/pictures like at Absolute and PokerStars

-Plentiful bonuses and RB

-Locally stored hand histories and PokerTracker compatibility

-NL slider

-Tournament variety, such as heads up and 6 max SNGs

-Advanced chat options, the detachable chat on Full Tilt is nice

-Buddy lists and a simple one click way to add new buddies

-Ability to hide play money tables or at least have them separated like at Party

-Smooth running software

-Good customer support

-Fast cashouts

-Low rake/tournament fees

Let me add in that there should be other games that aren't "normal" such as Hi/Lo Holdem & Razz. I think even just having games like that will bring in new people looking to try out a game for the first time.

The interface should be highly customizable. Give options for backgrounds, deck colors, card faces and tables. Allow sounds to customized. Allow users to pick the behavior of the window when it's their action and the window is not in the foreground. Stop the focus stealing.

For the love of Pete, someone please make a site where I can resize the freaking table window.

Oh! Oh! Make it easy to change seats at a table. When someone gets up, there should be an option for people already at the table to take that seat. May be hard to implement without slowing down the game, but I think it's possible.

The HUD absolutely has to be clean and responsive.

Re: A perfect internet poker site? ( spam free)

Better bonuses, better software, better support, more fish, are the obvious ones... But this all costs money, which means rake. I think that's what some of the "higher rake" talk was all about. I think some of us are willing to pay more rake, if we can get some big tradeoffs in the other areas. It's all about the +EV. Rake is just part of the equation.

The slider issue is interesting. I know most sites have the stupid slider, and I have taken note. I like the "Prima network" pulldown menu in increments of BBs, then bet pot and all-in. It's faster and simpler. That's the point. I think all sites will go to this, eventually.

Check out PokerChamps. Gus Hansens site. It's specifically geared toward multi-tableing
